The Truth About Joaquin Phoenix Returning For A Joker Sequel Will: An interesting fact that I've not seen mentioned as yet is that IF Joker does spawn sequels, and the director wants to put Bruce Wayne/Batman in subsequent instalments, they have to take into account that Joker would be in his 50's by the time Bruce Wayne fully becomes Batman. It wouldn't be a fair fight between equals per se, as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker (if he is in fact The Joker) would lose to a much younger and physically able Bruce. That said, it offers an opportunity for a very interesting dynamic: A much older, seasoned and more experienced with the world, Joker vs. a younger, less experienced and naive Bruce as Batman. That's not something I've seen explored onscreen yet. But maybe the comics dealt with it.

i see a lot of similarities with mr robot season 1/2 (for example, there is a certain character that is doing his own thing, but it is the city/the people around him who are affected/manipulated/showing their true colors.
Now for a sequel I think they will encounter problems with the plot since it isnt DC joker, it is a joker that was born from the society he lived in. They cant just add batman/harley without giving a really good reason for their existence (like a plot similar to the watchmen, nor that i want them to be add.
if other villains/heroes are out of the question, what else? Maybe how he became a crime boss? It looks American enough (The Godfather.

Well, the biggest issue is you can't put him next to Pattinson's Batman because it's not even the same universe.
2. Bruce is a child in the timeline of Arthur's transformation which means when he grows up, Arthur is gonna be elderly.
3. Arthur doesn't even know what he's doing as Joker, he's just killing out of retaliation and has no skills in terms of strategy/planning. How would he even know what to do to be one step ahead of Batman?

Looper you are wrong. This joker takes from pieces of the comics. From trailers you see bits of The Killing Joke as well the dark knight returns. Also the same source that was used to create the joker in comic books was used as well to create this version of the joker(the man who laughs.

Loved the movie. Fantastic.
I just wished they hadn't shown so much in the trailers. But to get the general movie going audience, ye ye pfff.
Would love a Joker sequel, if it's as good as or better than this one. It was really great.

I would like to see Robert Pattinson's Batman accidentally kick Joaquin Phoenix's joker into a vat of chemicals that permanently deform him or something. Making him even more unhinged to the point of being genuinely terrifying.

i saw the movie in theater yesterday and Phoenix really kept me watching his every movement. His acting is so incredible.
if there will be a sequel to this film which i hope happens, i need to revisit the theater again.

Batman vs this joker would be crazy. I imagine it to be something like the dark knight returns where joker makes batman finally snap. It would definitely go hand in hand with this movie!

I don't think there's any other place to go other than Batman vs Joker.
Batman vs Joker- a horror movie in joker's perspective and how scary Batman is in the eyes of criminals.
