The Russo Brothers Break Their Silence On Spider-Man Leaving The MCU
video description
You gonna have a video about how Disney routinely hampered fan-expectations in regards to Marvel vs Capcom Infinite because Fox held the films rights? How they intentionally mandated that Marvel Comics not create any more mutant characters and then cut the budget for the X books to push the Inhumans which despite never being money-spinners were just gonna be the new IT thing? Because they did all that after stating they wouldnt meddle in the comics but now the Infinity Gems are canonically called Infinity Stones, how Drax is now an idiot and Peter Quill now has an obsession with music to mirror their movie counterparts. Because real fans, fans who read the comics, fans who made the comics popular enough to make movies out of them and then have said movies be massively enough to draw Disneys greedy eyes (they wanted that 18-35 male demographic, those fans dont like having the FF and mutants missing from games to spite studios that legally and rightfully hold the film rights to those.
Sony stood up to Disney, and you can mock Morbius and Silver Sable all you want, at least theyre trying new things. At least Fox made Logan and Deadpool which well never get again now that theyre owned by The Mouse.
Spider-Man has THE best rogues gallery in all of comics behind Batman and ahead of the X-Men so stop selling them short to appease Disney.

Are you a Disney owned corporation, Looper? This isn't reporting, it's an opinion piece. I don't know why anybody would think that demanding 50 percent of the profit from a company who actually owns the rights to a product is even acceptable. You're talking about Disney, who underpays their workers in theme parks. You're talking about the Disney that is managing to kill Star Wars. You're talking about a company who prices theme park tickets beyond what most people want to pay and then are surprised to see theme park traffic decline. Please. It was great to see Tom Holland in movies with Downey (great chemistry and comradery. You forget, though, that one of the best superhero movies was created by Sony. That would be Spiderman: Into the Multiverse. Imagine a version of that story with Tom Holland and Zendia. And then there is Spiderman 2, which is still one of the great superhero movies of all time.
I suspect that Sony will do fine and so will Marvel. Why not look for a different kind of story. There are enough MCU characters to go around and make movies about. Seriously, we are in MCU overload. At some point, this stuff will be tired tripe. I enjoy the movies, but come on. Don't you want to see someone else's take on a character before you do what is essentially a hit job on Sony?

Also, those concerned about the storylines stopping, those are Sony films, Sony has the rights to Spider-Man and they paid for those films, they just cant use the Marvel elements that were in them.
Marvel needed Sony more than the other way around and Marvel built their franchise on Peter being around then got cocky, that was their issue. Sony can just mention I have those glasses back, I need to work on me and then move forward, whereas Marvel has to be like The Kid all the time because they cant mention him by name. Who REALLY loses out on that? Also, didnt Sony make the best Oscar-winning Spider-Man film with Spider-Verse and then sign those creators to an exclusive deal? Yeah, theyll be just fine. Disney needs to reevaluate their whole setup.

I know most people wanted him in the MCU but for those who are saying it is a good thing he is gone. here's the thing you may not like this version of spiderman because it is less comic accurate and instead of ben parker it uses tony stark as his father figure. I get it but guys even if you liked the other versions more they are not coming back. tom holland will still be spiderman only difference is that he's not in the MCU anymore. we could've seen soooo many amazing storylines play out like in the comics. spidey teaming up with x men and fantastic four. but now it's all gone. this is for Tobey and Andrew fans.

The simple answer is boycott any Sony Marvel film. The only thing big business notices or cares about is the money. When Sony comes out with their next Marvel movie. don't go see it. Don't pay to stream it digitally. Don't buy the Blu-Ray. Just Red Box it for two bucks. Heads will role and Spider man will go back to Marvel.

This article is so biased. Sony owns Spidey and can do what they want, they shouldnt have to bend for Disney like every other company has. Honestly its much better for the future of movies that Sony stands its ground. I think they can reach a deal but Disney is going to have to bend, as they should.

So the 2 movie curse is still going on. Raimi had 2 good movies, the 3rd was horrible. Then we only had two TASM movies and the MCU technically only had 2 movies. Will Sony be able to put their shit together and break the 2 movie curse and make a good trilogy.

I will never watch a Sony Spiderman movie or buy any of their products again unless they strike a deal. The whole thing is mad.
