1. JJ and George made the original version, in which Finn was going to confess his love to Rey
2. KK, not wanting to look as if she's irrelevant, and STILL convinced that she could lure in more females by going full Reylo, threw a huge wrench into their plans and demanded some reshoots
3. The Finn+ Rey subplot was completely dropped. But they had too much footage, that led up to FinnRey, to completely drop without redoing the entire film. So they left some of it in. That's why we got Finn chasing after Rey, like some love struck schoolboy, but NO payoff.
4. It also explains why Rey paid little to NO attention to Kylo, until the 2nd half of the film was in full swing.
5. They began to make film A (ReyFinn), but thx to KK's Brilliant leadership + meddling, they dropped film A at the halfway mark, then changed it to film B (Reylo. because KK just KNEW that she could lure in more females, if she gave them their precious Reylo ship.
6. TROS tanked. KK's plan backfired. By not fully committing to the Reylo dream ( Ben Solo lives + impregnates Rey), KK managed to accidentally alienate her Reylo fanbase. Maybe she thought Kylo giving his life for Rey would be seen as the most romantic thing in Star Wars.
7. But she failed to realize that a LOT of Reylos couldn't have cared less for REY. It was all about BEN. Some of the Reylos fantasized about being in Kylo's (aka Ben Solo's) arms, and Rey was just their self insert character.
And it didn't help that Reylo was only as popular as it was, because there were no other young white guys available to be Rey's potential love interest. Even some MALE Reylo shippers have admitted that.
8. Pissed off because her precious Reylo fanbase failed to flock to the theaters, in support of that shoehorned romance, Kk all but erased Reylo from canon.
9. But Disney still can't admit that some writer had his/her mind on set on FinnRey, which is why half the story seemed to be set on that ship, before it was dropped.
10. That would make them look even worse than ever.
11. We MAY get the REAL truth, 30-50 years from now, when the people involved think they're not going to get crucified for finally revealing the truth.
12. People can downvote this into oblivion or flame me to heck. But it's pretty obvious that a LOT of SW fans and even many new outlets were DESPERATE to pair Finn with ANYBODY but Rey.
It didn't help that Oscar was such an ambitious, opportunistic little shit, who was dead set on making history to further his career.

I believe the entire crew of prior stormtroopers that they meant on the moon of Endor, are also ALL force sensitive and why they too could all break away. Now someone MIGHT say that that is impossible that they'd all be together on the same ship, but I would like to point out, that the force has a mind of it's own and is not based on statistics, C-3PO.

If only Rey would actually struggle in a fight at the very least. Disney say that people that dont like Rey are racist, feminist etc. But we all know that Disney gave her HEAVY plot armor just because she's female, so that we wouldn't see her get hurt. And that's just so amazing.
