The Untold Truth Of Night Court

Audiences fell in love with Night Court's wacky portrayal of a Manhattan courtroom. Whether it s the history of the jazzy theme song, celebrity guest stars, or the cast of misfits that make up the ensemble, this is everything you never knew about the beloved sitcom. A magician and comedian, the late Harry Anderson appeared on Saturday Night Live and guest-starred on Cheers as con man Harry the Hat before landing on the bench at Night Court. As Judge Harold Harry T. Stone, Anderson is the moral center of the show, with a screwball sense of humor and a love of magic tricks, classic films, and the music of Mel Torm. A relatively young jurist in his 30s, Harry lands the gig out of hundreds of candidates because he happened to be home on a Sunday to answer the mayor's call, as he explains in the pilot, All You Need Is Love. In the show's finale, he receives an offer to tour with Torm, who by then had made several guest appearances on Night Court. In addition to Judge Stone, Anderson, who died in 2018, played humorous columnist Dave Barry in the 1990s sitcom Dave's World and the adult Richie Tozier in the 1990 TV adaptation of Stephen King's It.

What is the untold truth? This video just discussed bios of all the actors and known guest stars. I didn t see or hear any unknown truths, whatever the hell that even means.
Still, it was good to see images and reminders of how smoking hot Markie Post was. I don t know of any 17-20 yr old that didn t have a crush on her, or Kelly Bundy, during the time frame those shows aired.

Night Court was a great show, still can't believe Harry's gone. Watched it off and on when it was on the air (I was just a kid then, I finally watched the whole series recently. What I was most surprised about was how long it took to get to the iconic cast we all know and love. No mention of the new series?

No mention of the blonde public defender before Markie Post. I either heard or read somewhere that she was actually a singer and did the female portion of Meatloaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

My ex unbeknownst to him at the time played 18 holes with John Larroquette in a small West Texas town. He realized halfway through who really was. Of course this was yikes almost 20 years ago!

Surprised not mentioning John Astin as Buddy. He was in 10 episodes and is pretty well known from Adam's family and several other TV and movies. He is also Sean Astin's father.

This has got to be the most underrated comedic series ever made! It was always funny and gave several belly laughs in a 24 short minutes! Loved it!

You fail to mention three women who were regulars on the show early on: Karen Austin; Ellen Foley and Paula Kelly. Very disappointing.
reply

You can mention everyone that made a guest appearance but you couldn't acknowledge Paula Kelly as the first public defender.

It is fitting that the TV series Barney Miller was mentioned. Another great TV show. Night Court deserves to be in a TV Hall of Fame
