The Best Netflix Originals Of 2019 Most People Ignored Ivy: You know what's funny? Richard Madden was the lead actor in the first season of Medici.
When his character dies, Sean Bean appears in the show.
IDK why, i just find this kind of hilarious. I also saw no point in recasting most of the characters, but when you understand how RAI (the italian network responsible for the production of both seasons) conceptualized each season as a stand alone thing, you kind of stop caring about this.
This is me speculating, but i believe they did the first season without many hopes of getting enough traction to renew the show.
When it worked, they kind of tossed the idea of it being just one continuous show, making independent seasons that can work as stand alones but also viewed in sequence. That's why them both have different casts and subtittles. The first being Masters of Florence and the second being The Magnificent.
It's was different kind of release strategy, and it seems to have worked for them.

I see why majority of these movies were overlooked. All the trailers feel meh. The only ones that seem to interest me are Typewriter & Beats. I did see When They See Us. That was the only one I saw outta this list. Now let me say this about that series. Part 1-2 were amazing. Part 3 was decent. & part 4 is really what I had a problem with. That last episode felt a little dragged. But in the end I liked the series. It's just part 4 idk. But to be honest it's not one of those series I could go back & watch. Plus knowing the real story. There were some inaccuracies in the series that bothered me from the real story. Especially towards the end of the series. But I don't feel like diving into that. All ima say is read on the real story of the Central Park 5 then watch the movie & you'll know what I'm talking about if you pay attention but that's expected in the entertainment when it comes to television & movies these days

All of them served prison time the narrator said so nonchalantly as though they just did a yr & got let out early for good behavior. Put some respect on what happened. They were teens going in; their entire life was squandered & they were deemed disposable just so long as the majority got their conviction(s) for touching that precious white woman-by any means necessary. They went in missing the rest of their adolescents & much of their good adult years. Some of them are so broken they'll never be able to function properly on their own. The 1 guy that was already special didn't have the means to get what was happening so he agreed with everything the police said. He is so damaged he can barely speak correctly. Then, they have to split that tiny settlement between all five? Infuriating.

After scrolling through my rows upon rows of Netflix options the other day, & having nothing really pique my interest yet again, I just knew there had to be some excellent shows I've been missing, & it seems I was right! Besides one or two featured on your list, I think I'm going to be pretty busy for a few weeks!

The central park five are Not innocent. They committed the acts they confessed to. The additional man who Also committed a crime does not Disprove the CP5s confessed guilt. Their release is the only miscarriage of justice in that situation. The evidence is out there for anyone to find right here on YouTube even.

Spinning Out. If it hadnt been for a friend I wouldnt have seen this wonderful one season only series. I didnt even get an advance notice about this series. Now its cancelled. What a waste of money on the part of Netflix. I guess theyre using the slap it against the wall and see if it sticks philosophy.

Black earth rising is on my list. Raising Dion was kind of awesome. A cute little boy grows into a hero with a nice plot twist thrown in. The last Czar helped me to understand why he was assassinated

Well, over the radar obviously DARK. But just under the radar, I really loved the icelandic CASE. And. not originals but really loved THE ALIENIST and love love love the oh so delightfully delicious HAPPY!

The Last Czars was a mess. The mix did not work with those ludicrous accents, and why would you ask an audience to let a few historical inaccuracies slide? Dead To Me was brilliant.
