Shang Chi is a hardcore kungfu expert. Without people the likes of Cory Yuen, Sammo Hung, Donnie Yen, Yuen Wo Ping or Liu Chia Hui its going to be garbage. Imagine Disney trying to do their version of The Raid with asian directors and writers that they hired just for diversity and not because they know the subject material.

Does this mean he is the original or has been changes to his history I mean his father Fu Manche I have read something that it's Mandarin but his Japanese not Chinese? Mandarin was born in Japan to a father of Japanese roots not to sure about his mother it might she's Chinese? Shang Chai sister must be in the movie to?

The original Shang Chi was stronger and more popular than Iron fist in the 70s and 80s. That Tony Stark nunchuk garbage came later on down the line of comics history. I'm tired of Marvel making Tony Stark the center of the MARVEL universe. It's time to animate the old stories of the 70s and 80s

According to racist comments below, it seems like lesser known marvel characters = a gratuitous mcu film that will fail. Everyone forgets that GOTG received the same complaints.
I'm not saying it's not a cash grab for diversity by Disney but I'm interested in what the movie does.

Shang chi is going to be one wild ride also I already thought out the titles of they plan a trilogy:
1. Shan chi and the legend of the ten rings
2. Shang chi master of kung Fu
3. Shang chi and the immortal weapons
The series and movie can be use to build up the third one

Im an Asian but I dont know Shang chi like Ghost rider or Sentry. Disney shouldnt force diversity in The MCU. Disney should try to negotiate with Japan to do anime live action stuff in this way they are promoting diversity in Hollywood through diffrent worlds from Comics and Manga.

Shang chi is probably the best human fighter/ martial artist in the world in Marvel. One on one he can beat iron fist, Black Panther, daredevil in a bare handed fight and fought Spiderman to draw. Hes even fought supers bare handed and won.

helpfull comment: in China the A is not pronounced like its name, but rather like a pencil or a book, almost similar to the letter u, so Shanghai is almost pronouced like ShUnghai. Hope this helps.
