Rooney is trying to do his job, cuz yeah its every principal's job to leave the campus to go break into the house of a student and track him through the city. Totally what he gets paid for lol
As for the car, the garage may have had an alarm system that Cameron knew the code too and he simply turned it off. If the panel was on the wall we wouldn't have necessarily seen it. Also why would Ferris sell the stuff in his room to buy a car when his sister got one for her birthday? The guitar and other stuff in his room could have been from past birthdays and Christmases from his childhood. So him getting a computer while his sister gets a car still doesn't balance out

Wow, whoever wrote this is humorless. It's not supposed to be a realistic film, and even some of the things that are brought up (Cameron's illness, parade security, etc) can be easily explained.
What's strange is this video brings up the Abe Froman reservation but doesn't bring up what's actually unrealistic about it--What happened to the real Abe Froman? Did he just never show up for his reservation?
Seriously though, the writer of this video completely missed the point of that Ferris Bueller.

Considering this is a 1986 film and Tim Berners-Lee was 3yrs away from creating the web and 1 year away from writing the first browser, yeah that is cool. Ferris would have been using a dial-up modem to log into bulletin boards (BBS) or at most connecting to the school system's mainframe. He wasn't surfing the web.

I guess a lot of People played hookie to go to the parade. Also, in the parade scene there is a theater marquee that says Godzilla 1985 plus Teen Wolf. It seems almost like foreshadowing the fact that the star of this movie will star in a Godzilla film in 12 years.

After seeing this informative video, I went back and re-watched the movie. and wouldnt you know, I couldnt find a single moment in the movie where it says Based on/Inspired by true events. So weird.

This is my all time favorite film and I went to Chicago last year for my birthday and I can attest that there is no way they caught cabs and got all that down in one day in downtown Chicago lol
