It does not need to be a film that is filled with a stereotyped age based formula, for me to enjoy the film.
As an adult Ive seen many kids movies
And some of them are outstanding!

This film is great.
Dont go into it expecting the most mind blowing plot and best character motivations and such deep and amazing development.
The film is simple and easy to follow, it has emotion and likeable characters, scenes, and action.

At its core, its more so a family film.
But it is not directly a kids movie.
Its not doing anything to be directly aimed at as an adults film either. Or even a teens movie.

Calling it a kids film makes it sound like its only watchable for a 6 year old.
Id watch it again.
Its entertaining, and Im not confused watching it.

Is there a difference in being a sonic fan and seeing this?
Answer: Ya. There is.
Youd catch the references.
But it wont change the film experience much for non sonic fans.
Wow, you totally didnt recognize that 10 seconds of iconic sonic track that they probably remixed to better match this scene! Totally missed so much non dedicated sonic fans!
Btw. 2 after credit scenes.
Save yourself some time waiting on a 3rd.

Watched this movie release weekend, I had really low expectations and honestly didnt want to watch it but my gf wanted to so we went. Honesty this movie was a really good time and entertaining. Lots of little Easter eggs here and there that made me laugh. Jim Carrey is over the top in this movie and I love it. The film is nowhere near perfect and thats okay with me. It kinda does feel like its directed towards kids but regardless I found it very entertaining at 20 years old. Long story short, if youre a fan of sonic youll love this movie. If you dont care about sonic youll feel indifferent.

I watched it yesterday and i was legit really funny and charming. All the characters are either lovable (like sonic) or really funny (like Dr Robotnik and Tim. The only bit i didn't like was when sonic flossed twice - prepare for that - the rest was really funny
Who gives a damm about what critics say they voted the last jedi higher than joker which gives them no credibility.

Critics dont look at the creativity put, they just look at the company. Talk good about Disney, and they havent won any awards so far, also they didnt trust the movie Joker until the love it got shut their mouths. Now Sonic The Hedgehog. Most video game movies dont intend to succeed as well as this movie so this was a great experience.

Dude, parents are not hating this. Parents are my age, this game was THEIR childhood like it was mine. The bad reviews are haters. This movie is NOT perfect or AMAZING, but it IS GOOD! and i cant wait for the next one!

Honestly, critics are a joke nowadays. Anyone that rates that Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker as A+ is not credible lol. Literally ruined a beloved character in Last Jedi and RT gave that movie a 90%.

Ive seen the movie and everyone is over exaggerating about Carrey. Its a decent performance but its tame compared to The Mask, Riddler, Liar Liar, Ace Ventura, etc.
