The Worst Movie Remakes Of All Time
video description
Robocop 2014 is the best example of this type of misguided film remaking. The original was such a classic, it just makes the remake look so transparent. a pathetic attempt to cash in on the fans of the Iron Man movies and the nostalgia of the fans of the original Robocop. Sad and pathetic!

I agree with most of this they shouldn't have happen. But don't listen to critics there idiots who don't know what there talking about. Go by your own experience and the viewing audience. Around the world in 80 day was a good and funny remake. I also like the original. Get Carter is a damn good remake. Sikel and Ebert didn't like Die Hard. Major box office hit franchise. See idiots.

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World was one of the greatest movies of all time. So the remake Rat Race had a tough time trying to fill those shoes. But, since it was about average, and not a complete flop it didn't make this list. But if you look at the quality relatively speaking, it was a huge disappointment for anyone who had seen It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World.

Western remakes of J-Horrors usually struggle, the need to de-weird it and tack on a 'happy ending' tends to ruin the feel. Compare both versions of Dark Water as a prime example. Admittedly the remake is a pretty good film, but it lacks the truly disquieting feeling you are left with from the original.

Damn this list is long and yet there's still so many other examples that aren't in this list. Maybe it's time for film makers to try making new films instead of just remaking all the old ones.

John Carpenter didn't really produce the remake of The Fog. He got an honorary credit as executive producer to get a big fat (and well-deserved) cheque, but he didn't work on the film.

Summer Isle where Wicker Man was supposed to happen, is actually a rather remote and very pretty island off the West Coast of Scotland, they have the best tea and scones on the planet

Shame The Hustle didn't make this list. A gender reversed remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels which completely missed the humorous aspect & failings of male arrogance. It was just bad.

On top of my list for worst remakes is the hitcher. Rutger Hauer as the villain can not be duplicated. With a low budget they managed to instill the suspense and thriller atmosphere

How did you miss The Longest Yard? Sandler's remake was God awful. The original was a classic 70s anti hero movie. Plus, it starred Burt Reynolds, the king of the anti hero comedy.
