What if they bring the show back 14 years later. Dexter is being targeted by a new, vicious killer. The first few episodes show that this new killer is almost as good as Dexter. Having interrupted his ritual and gotten away with it. Only later to reveal that the killer is non other his than his own son, Harrison Morgan. This could potentially work because just like his father Dexter, harry was found in a pool of his own mothers blood. Combined with living with the fact that his dad was a infamous killer. After searching the internet for clues following his dissappearance all those years ago. Harry could have stumbled upon news reports of his fathers work (that being low profile criminals mysteriously disappearing off the face of the earth) Then the audience would be split between cheering on Harry to give Dexter the long awaited Justice he deserves. And wanting Dexter to come out on top one last time like hes done many times before. But unlike Dexter, harry is more charismatic, and has a small team (2 people) who are equally as dark as him who assit in his kills. This dynamic of three ingenious yet young emotional and inspiring killers trying to take down Dexter would make things a bit more fair for harry. But thats just wishful thinking lol
Who knows, what if Harrison injures Dexter so badly hes unable to kill again. This spawning a spin-off of Dexter being a mentor to harry, teaching him the code and how to get away with the art that Dexter has crafted.

Probably the only show that benefits from a reboot. The last season(s) were not that great and the ending was lackluster. The fact that the show ended kinda open-ended helps too.
Personally i want to see him caught and prosecuted, or develop so much guilt for his murderous tendencies he suicides or something. Hurt me please!
Or go weird and make the entire 10 episodes of him in prison xD

I personally didn't have a problem with the ending; I thought it was perfect especially since it made a Revival possible; I personally would like for him to have a happy ending cuz it's not fair for him to die because of all the bad people he has killed and the Paul Kersey character of the Death Wish franchise didn't, that would be hypocritical and I will be highly upset if that happens.

Lucifer somehow flys over from netflix and asks Dexter what he desires. Dex says I dont want my son to know that i am a serial killer and Decker then puts him in jail
Even that is better than what originally happened
Thats my opinion on the shows ending even though i absolutely loved the first 4 seasons.
So if they are trying to fix up that mess they better do it right.

The ending kept me up for days. I even wrote an alternate ending on a comment somewhere. Please make it a dream sequence and erase that garbage ending is what I originally hoped for but it s been too long for that to work now. It s just not going to feel like Dexter without all the familiar faces around. IDK, I ll give a chance though.

The ending left me feeling content, but I am certainly in the minority. Dexter was and still is in my top two or three all time favorite tv shows and news there will be ten new episodes has absolutely made me super excited and already wanting the wait for the new series to be over because I want to watch it now.

Most shows making a comeback mostly spells disaster. The finale season was the low point of the series. Had no problem with Decter's fate, but Hannah rather than Debra should've been killed. Deb's life was negatively affected in one way or another by Dexter's life style since she was a child.

If they bring it back i want dexter to have to come out of the cold to deal with a new serial killer ideally brought out via the FBI catching him and being used to find the new killer maybe end it randomly with angle coming out of no where to kill him hopefully a funny death.

About the only ray of hope is that this showrunner left Dexter early in Season 5, which was the last watchable season of the series. So. MAYBE we'll get some quality? I'm being very cautiously optimistic. Meaning I'm preparing myself for it to be a steaming pile of horseshit.

Is this true? After I read the books, I found out Showtime was doing a show on the books I read. Its rare that a movie or show is better or just as good as the book, but with Dexter I think they pulled it off. I hope this news is true, because I needs more Dexter in my life.
