Black Panther fans finally have an answer to how the beloved franchise once led by Chadwick Boseman will continue within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During Disney's 2020 Investor Day presentation, which featured news about a slew of Marvel-centric movie and streaming projects, Marvel Studios president and Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Feige finally revealed at least part of how the studio plans to move forward following the death of Boseman, the lead in their most profitable stand-alone film so far. The news which was later re-confirmed in a tweet-thread from the official Disney Twitter account delivered Marvel's final decision on whether Boseman would be recast as King T'Challa and his superhero alter-ego Black Panther. It's what many suspected and hoped for all along: Marvel isn't tapping another actor to take Boseman's place in Black Panther 2. Kenneth: Huge mistake not recasting treat the character like Bond, MARVEL could have waited until March 2022, and then shot the movie then to early for Shuri, so much they can do with this movie, a sequel during the snap, uncle S'yan, The Swift is a former king of Wakanda and Black Panther. He is the son of Azzari, The Wise and the younger brother to T'Chaka, The Great. He could have been chosen for the role, although older he keeps the country safe, MARVEL at times jumps hurdles, had Cox died DD would have been recast.

Recast, Chadwick will be sorely missed. That being said, no one is owns a character. How many James Bond s do you have? Same applies to comic book characters like Batman, Superman, jokey several. No matter how good you play the role there is someone who can still do the character justice it not better.
People are emotional, however T challa s story is not waiting to be fully told.
It will be much easier to recast than let him
Die. The story won t make sense just to cut him off just like that.
They should Have let someone take the role. Then kill him off In third one. That way have the character have a trilogy and also let the characters be alive in alternate universe, then give him
A series or something.
Then In third minus Shuri takes over and give her a trilogy alone or part of team with black superhero women like storm etc
Let s not forget even the mcu they have recast red skull, hulk and war machine.
Not recasting T challa is a bad precedent. Which will only bar making of movies and sadly mostly will be against black characters. People forget that I think it was Nate Parker or something that fought within Disney to have black panther made. Plus this could be another opportunity to have another black man have his shine too.

This doesn't honor the man, if anything it dishonors him (in my opinion. Chadwick Boseman understood what seeing a black male (non-sidekick) superhero meant to a lot of comic movie fans, which makes me believe he would have wanted T'Challa to live on. Black Panther was on his way to becoming an iconic comic book movie character, alongside heavyweights like Captain America, Spider-Man, and Iron-Man. By sweeping the character aside (due to the death of the actor portraying him) they are in essence saying the character was never iconic at all, because no other iconic comic hero would be dismissed because the actor playing him or her passed away.

They re gonna recast regardless they just don t wanna admit it or say anything. I mean there s more story that they wanted to tell with t challa. I don t want Chadwick s passing setting up something else and I don t wanna see or hear his character die off screen. I mean that s a complete waste of a character. Giving the mantle to shuri feels way too soon and doesn t feel like it s the right time. I don t want t challa dying with Chadwick I really don t. I just want them to recast and go on with the character. But this decision you just destroyed my favorite character in the whole marvel universe

A question for my fellow geeks.
Who will be the premiere black male hero in the MCU after Black Panther.
Will it be Falcon or War Machine?
Both characters are engaging but neither could carry a franchise level of attention. Actually It should be Miles Morales Spider-Man.
Imagine Shuri s panther & Miles working together. It would be a departure from the print Comic book lore & canon and that would be a good thing. Eventually the MCU needs to fly away from its Print nest.

We will all miss Chadwick Boseman, but this is a sad move. It means the franchise has a time limit, ultimately coming to an end. Sure Shuri can be the Black Panther for maybe another movie after this part two. But as we all know. Shuri isn't the last Black Panther, she was the temporary Black Panther. And to not recast T'Challa means we will not see Black Panther for more than likely very long time.

So John David Washington won't get his crack at portraying T'Challa? I respect what Chadwick did, but T'Challa the Black Panther has been around as a fictional character for decades before he portrayed him on the big screen. I'm all for recasting and seeing what another skilled actor can do with the character. The way Jack Kirby drew T'Challa was great but I liked John Buscema's interpretation as well.

Funny thing is. I was never really a fan of the Black Panther comics. So when I heard they were introducing him to the MCU I rolled my eyes and groaned. Then I saw the trailer and actually wanted to somewhat see the movie. Then I went to see the movie and was blown away. I tried to read the comics again. still can't do the comics. I don't know why but that's just the way it is.

In a way I guess I understand but I wish they would have recast just because I've been such a big fan of T'challa/BP for years even well before the movie, and I would have like to have seen more movies with him. Its not like Boseman was gonna be the only person to ever be T'challa/BP. Just how many different actors played Batman and Spiderman?

I just hope they don't take a miss step and have Bucky as the White Wolf be the central character or something along those lines. It would be cool to see Bucky as the White Wolf have a role in training up Shuri to eventually take up the mantle of Black Panther.
