The Witcher: Sad News Involving Henry Cavill Just Dropped

When season 1 of The Witcher dropped on Netflix back in December 2019, it was an instant smash hit. While there were some differences between the series and the video games, most fans believed it to be a faithful adaptation of author Andrzej Sapkowski's books upon which the CD Projekt Red games are based. A standout for many viewers was the brilliant casting of Superman actor Henry Cavill in the lead role of Geralt of Rivia. The show follows Geralt as well as the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg and the Crown Princess Ciri as they go through various events at different points in time, based heavily on Sapkowski's The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny. Their characters go through formative events that shape them into the legends they are to become until all of their stories eventually merge.

And this is WHY you have Stunt Actors. I really do not understand why actors risk shutting down a movie or series, possibly even ending the show permanently, just so they can, do their own stunts. I guess I'm just not that impressed by actors who insist on doing things they really aren't trained to do, taking jobs from those that ARE trained, just so they can gain bragging rights. I'm 100% on board with Samuel Jackson's comment about not doing his own stunts and laughing at the other Marvel actors when they come limping in, all bruised up, barely able to do their scenes, after trying to do some stunt they really weren't able to pull off.

In other news a craft services personnel identified as Alexander L. Joseph II was let go from his position on the same production for bringing a necklace with was later found to be a Kryptonite pendant on the day of the shoot. No charges has been filed as test, receipts and sources from the unnamed arts and crafts boutique in San Francisco confirmed that it was in fact an antique piece made in 1978 of Baltic Green Amber or Olivine by an unknown artist.

NGL: I absolutely hate the show. I loved the books and the games were fantastic as well, but to me, the show was just too far off the mark for me. It seemed like a campy off shot. Sure it doesn't need to follow the books exactly, but at least to me, it just felt like a bastardized versions of it's source material.

They could have given the Eskel a little break until season 3, he was fun but in short doses not tagging along every episode. I did not like how show was turning into Don Quijote. I think Geral is way cooler character as a Loner

A faithful adaptation of the books?
Did you read the books?
The fact they are NOT a faithful adaptation is why I don't watch it!
Perhaps you meant close enough adaptation of the books?

Eskel was never portrayed in season one, so its not that the actor isn t coming back, the character has just gone thru 2 actors before the actual debut of the character in season 2

I wouldn't say it was a faithful adaptation of the Witcher. Seemed like they cherry picked a bunch of different stories from the Witcher books and then combined them all into one story.

He'll be fine. Money is no object. They can simply pump him full of all the best steroids and stem cell treatments available and he'll heal like wolverine.

I got so worried from the title that the show was going to end or that Cavill couldn t continue on the Witcher. I can t imagine anyone else play the lead.
