The New Captain America Finally Responds To All The Fan Hate

In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers' personal pick to be the successor to the Captain America name, chooses to forgo the honor and donate the shield to the U. S. government. The first episode of the Disney+ series culminates in a gut-wrenching revelation in its very last moments: The government debuts a brand-new Captain America just days after Sam gives up the shield. It's here where we're introduced to John Walker, the new Captain America. Of course, once this new version of Cap was revealed, Marvel fans didn't hesitate to share their thoughts on him. Reactions ranged from slightly positive to downright negative in nature. One Reddit user said this to describe the way Walker makes them feel: The Germans have a word called 'Backpfeifengesicht, ' which translates to 'a face that needs punching. ' It doesn't matter whether the person is bad or not, but their face is very punchable. John has that kind of face. You can't expect fans to warm up to a new Captain America immediately, especially when it seems like he's taking the mantle from under the nose of its rightful owner. But in spite of the hate surrounding his new character, Wyatt Russell is keeping his spirits up. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor responded to fans' hatred of John Walker. PikNik: I don't hate neither the actor or the character. It's exactly what he said. This is something that John Walker has been doing all his life and it has rewarded him for it. The only problem is, the government wants him to do it as a symbol of hope.
There are many things the person has to do and after the events of the endgame. The blip doesn't really leave the world an entirely beautiful place. There are things to be fixed, re-arranged, compromised. He is doing things that should be done and everyone is just focusing on the fact that he's trying to be Captain America when he's not.

I don't hate the guy for his acting abilities. In fact, I think his acting abilities are so terrible, they may rank right up there with the writers abilities on WandaVision. Completely boring character with no personality at all. I really didn't think they could make me lose interest in this show after three episodes, like I did WandaVision, but they're pushing very hard to prove me wrong. It must be a Disney thing, I couldn't make it past three episodes of the Mandalorian either. Keeping my fingers crossed they don't butcher Loki like this, but it isn't looking promising at all.

I wish they would have shown him without the helmet first. I didn't know it was Wyatt Russell from 22 jump street I like him playing John walker that dude gives walker a rebel vibe give him the super human serum Evan version was the first and he was like a good old grandpa Language don't say any bad word, gotta do it the Need Stark way now hope Walker is like homelander

what I don't get is how can someone else become captain america without the super soldier serum? They are just a regular person with a costume and a shield in that case?
That is what I also didn't get about cap giving the shield to sam. Sam does not have any powers or super strength, he is just a regular guy with a flying suit.

Well comic fans know that John Walker eventually becomes U. S. Agent. So I dunno. he's always been a character who was a bit of a foil until he gives up being Captain America. Basically people should give reading some of the older comics a whirl, and then they'll understand that characters like this are great, but never permanent.

It seems pretty obvious that Sam will be Cap by the end of the series anyway. So those who don t have Disney+ and only watch the films will follow on from Cap giving Sam the shield after Endgame. Curious to know if they will kill off Walker with a heroic death, or have him turn bad and assume another identity.

Honestly as a hardcore marvel comic/cinematic fan, its really sickening that people are sending death threats to an actor over someone that doesn t even exist and I m gonna say it. IMHO i love us agent and wyatt russel who did a great job in playing him, id love to see more of him in the mcu

i love how MCU is bringing up the us agent. i hope he and steve rogers get a fighting scene or fight side. by. side in MCUs future movies. but i kept wondering, why all the hate for this guy? he portrays the us agent perfectly. much respect for wyatt russel as john walker.

I hate the new captain because I just find him annoying. But the actor is amazing he does such a good job and is amazing over all but that shield doesn t belong to you

Those who read the comic book US agent is actually a thing and he does carry the mantle of Captain America. They don't know that Sam and Bucky also carry that at some point.
