Why These Lines In Godzilla Vs. Kong Are So Important

The humans in Godzilla vs. Kong may not add much in terms of action, but they do provide better dialogue than the titular monsters. Here are the lines in Godzilla vs. Kong that you never realized were so important. The first impactful line from Godzilla vs. Kong isn't even dialogue; it's from the lyrics to the song Over The Mountain (Across the Sea) by Bobby Vinton. The slow, soothing doo-wop song plays over the sight of King Kong going about his morning routine on Skull Island. The song itself mainly serves to set the relaxed tone of the movie's opening scene. However, it's also a callback to King Kong's origins. Until Legendary Entertainment started featuring Kong in its burgeoning MonsterVerse, the character was most famous for King Kong's original 1933 movie and its remakes. In most versions of the classic King Kong story, Kong has a protective fascination with the American women he encounters. Additionally, this sets up two other elements of the movie. First, it references the connection Kong has with Jia, the last remaining member of Skull Island's Iwi Natives. Second, it foreshadows the idea that Kong may find others of his kind far away in the bowels of the Hollow Earth. No matter the context, the song's lyrics are an important characterization tool, painting Kong as a lonely figure and foreshadowing his desire for a family later on. KostantinosV26: First of all in the scene where Kong jumped and hit godzilla with the axe should be fatal hit because the axe was fully charged. In the last scene the axe was like 2/10 charged and kong destroyed mechagodzilla like nothing and after the hit kong instead of finishing the fight he climbed in a skyscraper for no reason just to lost the fight. the director just wanted godzilla to win

This offers way TOO MUCH WORK in trying to justify a script that was inept. Great graphics, but a movie apparently written at a 10 year old's level. I moaned in agony at the mistakes i. e. Kong continuously changing size from 40 feet to 400 feet tall, a multi-billion dollar holographic shield taken from Hunger Games for no reason, the center of the earth 2-3 miles from the surface, tropical weather surrounded by a 3000 degree magma core, sunlight from nowhere, and lastly Kong magically ends up back inside the center of earth where gravity is apparently normal on opposite sides of the mile wide domain. The exact center of the earth, if hollow, would have no gravity.

All godzilla and kong directors pre-wingard: ok we need titans fight something
Writers: okay what about the humans?
Directors: whatever give them something to fight the monsters against something
Writers: any deep storyline for the humans?
Directors: no we can't afford storyline for the humans
Writers: alright sounds complicated

I thought godzilla used the hollow earth to get around quicker, in KOTM its described as just under water and under ground tunnels but nothing like what we see in this movie. Was godzillas temple part of hollow earth or just deep under water. Had godzilla ever been to hollow earth? I have so many questions now.

This could be a hint at Mecha King Ghidorah. The head inside M-G wasn t destroyed just thrown away by Kong, and the 2nd is the control center inside Apex. Though Idk how they would bring back the organic parts of M-KG even with the regenerative ability he has.

How come Kong has the best or more interesting characters in his movies? 2014 Godzilla had Bryan Cranston and in 2019 Ken Watanabe and the rest of the Godzilla human characters suck while most of the Kong humans are pretty decent

Since this movie confirms that Godzilla and Kong are the last remaining Titans, I want to know what happened to the other ones that appeared in the final moments of Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019).
