Violent animal attacks are all too real. While lots of elements of Nope fall squarely into the realm of science fiction, one plotline shares some similarities to a real-life horror story. Here's how they line up. Spoilers for Nope ahead. rocketfighter8: I was very familiar with the Travis / Charla Nash incident so it immediately came to mind as I watched the Gordy scene in the movie and even related the story to my wife afterwards. I also saw her interview with Oprah. There's also a documentary about a group of chimps attacking wild life rangers in Africa. I've never trusted chimpanzees since.

I thought it was about another chimp named Moe. I used to live near his owner. Owner used to hold a free Moe sign in his front yard. Moe was in a sanctuary, he didn't snap but another one did. Owner was badly hurt and disfigured. It happened at Moe's birthday party.

the scene was haunting but i was let down by the CGI chimp. with better effects that would ve been one of the most disturbing scenes in cinema
