The Fan Reactions To Wednesday's Jenna Ortega Are Pretty Clear

A champion of the weird and the whacky, it was only a matter of time before Tim Burton tackled The Addams Family franchise. Non-conforming women such as Lydia and Sally are just some of Burton's most iconic characters and modernizing Wednesday Addams was a no-brainer. Netflix's Wednesday is a fresh spin on the character, honoring her Latina roots and making her even more of an outsider than before. This was an element that the new Wednesday herself, Jenna Ortega, was hoping to elevate.

I like Wednesday however the guy that played her father was the worst choice possible, after seeing the way he played the character, I really think just about anybody would have been better than him. He's good in boogie nights and every other movie I've seen him in including waiting, but this was a roll he completely ruined and the woman playing Morticia & Pugsley was not much better picks either, try ALL sucked except Wednesday. I can't think of the guys name, but whoever tried playing Gomez Adams really ruined EVERY scene he was in. The acting was so unnatural and dear Lord his voice sounds worse than Shrek. Seriously, I really hated him in this.

So glad to see the outpouring of kudos for Ms Ortega. I m a little over halfway through and this season is wonderful. Ms Ortega is GREAT! She steals every scene she is in.
It is fascinating to watch her portray the Wednesday character. I can t get over how believable she is bringing Wednesday to life.
Kudos!
Emmy time!
Another season please!
PS: The hand actor for THING is also amazing. So much communication, understanding and HUMOR from only hand gestures! Tremendous job here! Great enjoyable entertainment!

The 'difference' between this show and so many other teen shows that Netflix and others have tried to recently thrust upon us is the history of the character, of the entire family and their nature. There is so much depth to draw upon with The Adams Family. She is doing a remarkable job playing this part. Like Chris Reeve playing Superman. Or Leonard Nimoy performance as Spock. This 'character' may be Jenna's path to real gold and fame for as long as she wants it to be.

I think she is doing pretty well at the role. My only criticism playing devil's advocate would be that she breaks character too often becoming excited and emotional with her delivery instead of monotone and deadpan. This probably is as much the show to blame as her performance since it is relying on her to talk more than she would and fill roles that normally would be spread amongst one of her family members if they were present at the scene.

And so many people before the series were pissed that she/her dad/her mom werent going to be white, It just goes to show, Ignore the idiots and just wait to see for yourself when it comes out. They just shoved the haters words down their throat, and I couldnt be happier. She, and the rest of the cast, were AMAZING!

No one can explain to me how one gets a latino child from a Castillian-spanish father.
This show is Addams in name only.
It's simply more Riverdale, Charmed, Pretty Little Liars, True Blood, Twilight trash.
And by fans can't get enough you mean upper middle income, middle aged white Harry Potter moms.

I usually shy away from remakes and reboots with this generations actors/actresses but Ortega was amazing as Wednesday and the show reminds me of my childhood watching Tim Burton films. I ended up binge watching the show in one sitting and enjoyed it immensely.

I was really looking forward to this it s the type of thing I usually really like.
But it just fell flat, I couldn t seem to get in to it for some reason. I watched e1 and about 2/3 of e2 before being so bored I just started doing the laundry.

Jenna absolutely owned the role. Couldn't have picked anyone better to play Wednesday. Didn't think I'd feel this way either. Grew up with the 90s films, and christina ricci, but honestly I think she outdid even her Can't wait for season 2.

Binge watched it, just sit back and enjoy the ride. She was very good and I cant wait for the next series. I also loved how she bounced off her dippy blond sidekick (who I also thought was pretty good and deserves a nod of appreciation.

Really enjoyed this show. But I can care less what race the actress is who plays Wednesday or what race the Adams are in general. I like the series for what it is. People need to stop bringing race into everything. It's sickening.

Ortega was great in her portrayal of Wednesday Addams but don't discount Emma Meyers' performance of Enid Sinclair either. Those two carried the show. The interplay between Thing and Enid was especially delightful.

Just binged the show in one weekend with my mom, I ve never seen her so interested in a movie or show before, a close second would probably be when we watched the Harry Potter movies or Netflix daredevil

Other than the boring teen romance crap, the show is surprisingly engaging and interesting.
This is definitely Jenna Ortega s career defining role, amazing job from the young actress.
