Kept it secret? Good one. Honestly if you used some common sense and some logic anyone could of predicted it. Firstly he has his Batman, then he runs and changes time line then he has another Batman. He runs again and somehow it changes again because (court scene) (changed from previously) PLUS He is the DCEU Flash and will be replaced. So. How do you explain him not being in the next set of movies. Well. Make him accidently be in ANOTHER alternate earth which would of been Clooney or Bale. So either one.

I think it's a brilliant move by James Gunn. We all know WB will recast The Flash and leave Ezra Miller behind. We also know there won't be a George Clooney Batman anytime soon, so how do cut Ezra Miller? By leaving him in the George Clooney Batman multiverse. They can still bring back Gal and Affleck, because they appeared before the timeline was changed.

I thought the Clooney cameo worked fine as both an audience surprise & narrative point to shelve Miller on that universe. That said, I would have preferred an action scene that made Clooney s Batman look cool & give him a small bit of redemption.
