If you decide to pick up Robert Heinlein's novel Starship Troopers because you enjoyed Paul Verhoeven's movie version, you might be disappointed and vice versa. These are the biggest distinctions between the 1959 book and its film adaptation. J. O. K. E. R.: Would love to see a remake that takes the bug designs & battle sequences of the first movie, the ship & mech designs from the Roughnecks series & the infantry suits from the CGI movie, mix that together with the script writing & directing of Christopher & Jonathan Nolan and you ve got an all time classic.

I remember the mech suits were the main thing that I wanted to see in the movie and also maybe John Rico would be darker skin Latino
But I think Avatar films show mech suits, galore and to perfection.

After seeing that thumbnail, I never realized how much Lucy Hale looks like Denise Richards. I thought that was Lucy in the thumbnail for a second and wondering what she had to do with Starship Troopers.

Well the film takes in Buenos Aires, Argentina like in the Book, I mean they could have it set somewhere in the U. S. but I guess that would ruin the integrity of the story like in said book.

the funny thing is nobody seems to realize at the end of the movie It's like a commercial it's a recruitment tool the whole movie was a recruitment weapon watch the end you'll see

The book is one of my favorites all time. The movie is the movie the director said he never read the book. Read the book. Also read The Forever War.

Another changes was that in the book the military actively discourages people from joining because they only want those who are genuine

I like how the roughnecks dealt with the skinny s by finding them under mind control and freeing them to ally with the mobile infantry

The book is a classic. And Heinlein was often more interested in politics and philosophy. But its still a favorite of mine.
