Frozen is coming to broadway! The show has been in the works for a while since its release in 2013. Apparently, Thomas Schumacher, who heads up Disneys theatrical efforts, texted John Lasseter after a screening of the movie, and immediately got the ball rolling on what he thought was the perfect Broadway musical. In 2014, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger made the official announcement

I'm so excited! I was gonna go see Wicked but if this comes to the UK ill definitely be seeing this too! TRIPLE THE SONGS, YES PLEASE!
Also, we bloody get it you special snowflakes, you don't like Frozen and it was sooooo overrated and blah blah blah. No one said you had to watch this, why come here if you hate the movie. It's like walking into a shop and shouting that this shop is so lame and overhyped. It's just silly. If Frozen wasn't for you, fine, you do you, but you don't by any means have to click on this just to tell us that, the rest of us are trying to discuss the subject and we don't want to trawl through fifty people who've decided to randomly declare their hatred of this movie to do so. Please have a little respect for people who do genuinely love this movie and were even impacted by it, there are places where you can discuss the overhype, but this isn't one of them. Nobody liked Batman and Robin but people don't type I HATE BATMAN AND ROBIN in every video that even mentions Batman, they move on with their lives and focus on other things they DO like. I wasn't fond of Aladdin (loved Genie tho) but i don't seek out things about it just to voice my opinion, that's in no way healthy. Don't be a Negative Nancy, let those who love Frozen love it and find a video on a Disney movie you DO like, and go watch that, its more beneficial for you to seek out things that make you happy than it is to click on everything relating to something you hate! Go enjoy the other products Disney has to offer, don't seek out what you don't like. Stay happy, everyone! :)

I saw the world premiere! definitely has potential but I don't think they know if they want it to be a gimmick musical or an actual artsy type yet, it greatly fluctuated between the two during the production, but changes will be made and it shad time to get its footing. dangerous to dream and what do you know about love are songs to look out for! but tbh I wouldn't be surprised if they cut the narrator character. he just ruined a lot of would -be intimate moments imo

The musical looks good, no question. And I love the costumes for Elsa and Anna. But, I will always feel bitter towards it because in the back of my mind, I know that this is the show that Disney chose to go to Broadway instead of The Hunchback of Notre Dame musical, which was absolutely phenomenal and 100% deserved to be on Broadway as well. But, Frozen is the one that will make Disney the bigger bucks so I can see why they chose it.

I think I will like the musical more than the film, since I thought the film had a lot of plot holes. It will be nice to see what they did with the musical and how much more they have added. I already love the song monster because it's so extremely dark and it has an amazing beat.

As much as I liked the movie from my first impression, I'm not as excited for this stage adaptation as I was for the movie five years ago. However, I am going to be keeping my eyes on this new Frozen just to be sure I'm not lured into a carbon copy which is beyond doubtful.

I saw the musical twice in Denver during the premiere, once on Broadway, and once in London's West End. I plan on seeing the North American tour even if I have to travel to see it. My husband even saw it and ranks it in his top three musicals.

I watched it yesterday, and it was AMAZING! I hardly can describe it, it left me speechless. (I live near Denver, CO)
I honestly would love it if they realised a DVD recording of the entire thing. After it hits Broadway that is.

I'm hoping the Broadway show is better than the movie, the movie's just overrated and over played that I've just fallen out of love with it, but I'm hoping the Broadway show will redeem it: )

Well, Reprises are good, the 1st half had all the major songs, and the second half had only one reprise, but its still a stage version of a movie I've already seen!
reply

The part about the cast already being unveiled seems a bit obvious considering it was announced months ago and they've been performing in Denver for a few weeks.

Dangerous to dream is in the first act. Maybe you were actually referring to Monster which IS in the second act and is also a new addition.
