Forrest and Jenny! Are you kidding me? They are not friends in any way, shape of form. Jenny doesn't ever love Forrest, she barely even tolerates him due to his mental disabilities. Hence why she keeps running away all the time. I mean, she only tells Forrest about her kid when she realises she's dying. They never hang out together, never really talk, never connect or bond in any real way. I don't blame so much because she had a very damaging childhood, but calling these 2 friends is not accurate.
And then, suggesting they fall in love is laughable. Again, she contacts Forrest when she needs help. At what point in the movie does she ever start loving Forrest? On her deathbed, maybe? Even then it's a hard sell. No way should these 2 be anywhere near a list like this.

Love is a funny thing. You can Love someone dearly but NOT be in Love with them. That is my opinion on Forest Gump. I think Jenny loves Forest but I dont think she is IN LOVE. She is unfortunately dying and her kid is actually Forests. To me she settled. If she wouldnt have gotten pregnant and if she wouldnt be dying she would NOT be with her dear friend Forest. Now that is how I see it.

Best friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes in movies, shows and books! I think Love, Rosie, Made of Honor, Something Borrowed, and How to Win a Date with Tad Hamilton should have made the lost or be an honorable mention. Some of these weren't the best of this trope, like Silver Linings Playbook? No.

Great to see 'When Harry met Sally' at the top again, a truly brilliant rom com, I think 'what if' was brilliant too - a similar but modern take on When Harry met Sally great stuff.

Definitely, Maybe is very well crafted. The film deliberately makes you think - for whatever reason - that Mya's mother is no longer on the scene; then she turns up at the very end.
