I don't agree #1 mentioned break up as satisfying at all! It was a tragic ending that took place. She hadn't realised her feelings she had developed for him over the years and since she never expressed, he never got to know! Okay. Lets believe that too. Even then you cannot deny how much she needed him and not the guy she was supposedly in love with when they both lost their child. Anyway. All that said. Some parents choose their spouses over their kids.
My mom chose my stepdad over me years ago.
I moved in with a friend and his family at age 15. He liked my little sisters and newborn baby brother he had with my mom, but not me, as i was too old and remembered my dad vividly, unlike my very young sisters.
Im 27 now, and only have seen my mom twice since.
So parents DO sometimes choose others over kids

I enjoyed the one from That Old Feeling, where Dennis Farina's character splits from his conniving 2nd wife, to get back with his first wife, played by Bette Midler. But the best part is when their daughter dumps her cheating husband, for a better guy. That was awesome.

I think the best breakup is Stu and Melissa- Stu's girlfriend is a nightmare not to mention that Melissa when behind his back and cheated on him with a waiter last june. I was smiling as he litterally drops the bomb in her face in front of family and friends. :)

when men are forced to choose between a woman or their kids its only in MOVIES that the right thing happens. I know because my sperm donor chose my step thing over his own children 24/7. I lived through him doing that to myself and my siblings.
