Hermione modifying her parents' memories deserves to be higher on this list. Hermione's an only child. She has no living family (grandparents/aunties/uncles/cousins etc) other than her parents. When you're an only child, you become close to the only other living people in your household - your parents.
We can deduce from her rude and condescending personality during her first meeting with Harry and Ron on the train that she probably had little to no friends at her muggle school prior to receiving her Hogwarts letter.
So in this scene, she reaches the realisation that the only way to keep the only two people that have accepted her for who she is from birth safe is to voluntarily remove herself from their lives and wipe any memory of her existence from their minds. She doesn't know if she will ever see them again. The second she says Obliviate, she is in the same position as Harry - she's an orphan with no family.
As an only child myself, the scene makes me reflect upon what I'd do if I was faced with that impossible choice.
The only thing that would have made the scene stronger is that after panning of the camera to all the photos, it switched back to Emma showing her wiping a tear away.

Watching these movie moments was nothing compared to the feeling of reading them! I mean I defo cried during the films but reading the books I was crying for days! There are some connections and emotional relationships that just cannot be made into 2 hour (or less) chunks and it shows!
Nothing against the films just hoping the next generation will get to read the books first like so many of us did to experience the incredible relationships and intricacies the movies couldnt show! I mean Winky is my main example!

The most saddest was the Snape's memory in which Snape had conversation with Albus Dumbledore
Snape: .and the time comes the boy must die?
Dumbledore: yes he must die.
Potter to Sirius: does it hurt? Does it hurt dying.
The saddest conversation that was.
And when you-know-who announces that harry Potter is dead and Jinny got out of nerves was one of spine chilling scene.

Cedric was the saddest for me personally. I loved cedric so much. I remember long ago, i read the book and when it said It was Cedric, he was dead. I remember immediately going like NO WAY. NO WAY. NO WAY. NO WAY! And i went and watched the movie and started crying my eyes out when i found out it was true and that cedric was infact dead

the two saddest scenes in the series did not appear on this list (which i guess makes sense as they were both omitted from the same film, order of the phoenix): mollys boggart and the groups introduction to frank and alice in st mungos. both moments that contextualize how much everybody has to lose in this war, not just our protagonist

One scene I will never get over is of Draco in Half-Blood Prince where he's forced to kill Dumbledore, or else he would die to Voldemort. It shows his vulnerability and reluctance to follow in his parents footsteps as a Death Eater, but it also shows he's still a child, who shouldn't be forced against his true nature by his family.

My favorite that should have been top three. Goblet of Fire. In the book where Harry is in the hospital wing and finally breaks down and cries on Ms Wisely shoulder. One its over Cedric and two its he doesnt have his mother there. Three the love of Ms Wisely

The darkest part for in Harry Potter besides Dobby's death was Dumbledore falling from the time I finished reading The Half Blood Prince. I screamed no for two minutes as Dumbledore died! Sad day for e including how brave Dobby had been for Harry to the end.

Hedwig's death was so much sadder in the book. She was in her cage. She died. in a cage. there's something so incredibly sad about her being killed in what is essentially captivity. In the books they had a much stronger bond than it appears in the movies.

That was hell of a ride man. A decade+ of smile laughter love friendship mentorship sacrifice enmity loyalty dignity and an end to childhood. Some things can never come back like Harry Potter series Avengers series, Sachin and Dhoni's retirement.

I'm not even going to watch this video because, judging by the thumbnail it will be Dobby at #1 and that's pathetic IMO. I can't seriously be the only person who hated Dobby, found him annoying, and actually cheered when he died in the book.

The actor who played Amos dig gory is seriously underrated. My grandparents witnessed a neighbor weeping over their dead child in their younger years and when they saw that scene, they said the mother reacted the same way to a T.

Harry and Hermione visiting the Godric's hollow part was even more touching in the book. I didn't read the rest of the book for couple days coz, I was mentally disturbed by that and Cried thinking about it quite often.

Cedric's death is the most heartbreaking, as his father screams That's my son, that's my boy, MY BOY if you have children. you know. How you could not include that is preposterous.

Not only was Dobby's final act saving his friend, Harry Potter, it was giving the middle finger to his former masters - thus signifying that he was truly a free elf.

No one will ever convince me that Cedric's death shouldn't be number one. Amos' reaction was heart wrenching along with the crowd's reaction to amos' and the music.

Hold up, are we not going to talk about Severus Snapes' death! Though not in the books, in the movie, as he died, he still thought of his love. Common on! lol

Oh god that Godrics Hollow gets me emotional every time in both the book and movie. But I think the worst death is Sirius followed by Dumbledore and Dobby.

#8 That one definitely made me cry. When Amos saw his dead son, and when he started breaking down( I sure as hell don't blame him) it made me start crying.

For me, the most touching moments aren't the explicit events but the implicit and often subtle life lessons that endure throughout the series.
