To this day, TVD is the best vampire genre adaptation (cough twilight cough) Ive ever seen! Besides all its ups and downs, especially with Elena gone and some very annoying subplots I very much enjoyed the show!
While the ending might not have been the one planned or liked by many who read the books, i thought it was heartbreaking and the best for each character. Although i wish Caroline and Stefan had more time together.
Anyway, the one with Ian losing his bad boy image actually isnt 100 percent true. He always kept his flaws and anger management issues but he was trying to better himself for the sake of his impression towards Elena. Throughout the seriess run, I thought he was a bad boy at heart.

I gotta say, I started to read Book 1 of VD and couldn't finish it. I was honestly bored. Granted, I didn't give it a chance because my obsession with the show was already underway. It's an amazing interpretation from the book's original story. The actors, the costumes, the set. all of it. I was blown away. I remember watching the trailer for it and it was shortly after I had seen Twilight. My gut reaction was that the VD creators were trying to win over the fandom of Twilight's success, and I was skeptical. However, I was ever so wrong after I saw the first episode. They had me at--Epic.

The thing I learned from Kevin Williamson; he enjoys love triangles and if he wants two people together, he will chose the other guy because that generally is what the audience wants. I thank him for that and I thank him for picking Pacey over Dawson. I gave up on TVD for various reasons, but I did watch the series finale. I loved that Elena ended up with the right one. IMO so don't throw stakes at me.

I always liked Stelena more, but I don't hate Delena, except the part that they did Stefan dirty, I personally I feel that the last Delena kiss was just not it, their last dance and that kiss was so epic, but the actual last kiss was so awkward, it kinda just wraps the whole thing up, my expectations were way higher, and I don't like the fact that none of the other ships got a happy ending.

I genuinely struggled with all the teen drama. I couldnt relate to a lot of it, directly, however, so that may be why. I was expecting so much more viciousness as the seasons came to a conclusion. Instead, there was so much entwinement of relationships and emotional issues. A lot of twists, etc. Ultimately, not disappointing but some useless and tedious moments.

Team Damon all the way. In fact, binge watching the show, I really hated a lot of the characters for turning their back on Damon. A lot of the characters made mistakes and were forgiven, but they constantly made Damon the bad guy no matter what he did. Even his BF killed him, if I was Damons vampire GF Alaric would be deadsorry not sorry.

I'm so glad they didn't kill everyone off at the end like many shows (the originals) do. Its such a cop out when writers do that. Sometimes it makes sense, but too often it just negates the story and growth that happened, simply because the writers wanted to be shocking or edgy (Veronica Mars. Stop killing people off for no reason.

Its a shame the show caved to the delana fans.
Them getting together, while making sense due to Ian and Nina chemistry, lead to the show retconning its own backstory, terrible writing, and ultimately the downfall of the show.
TVD was never the same after delana and the departure of the originals for the spin-off.

I have always been team Stefan and honestly Klaus. Unpopular opinion, but I feel like Bonnie and Damon had some really good chemistry and that they should have gave that a shot! I have to rewatch this show now for the 1202 time! I adore Caroline but as a Vampire she turned into this amazing person.

I really love the show, but I always imagined Elena blond, blue eyes, full of herself, while is Catherine like an angel. And there is no Meredith, Bonnie is not redhead, but books are books. TW Show is amazing and that's it. Do it like books if you make a movie
