Thumbelina? Kinda hard to take this list seriously.
Master Tigress? Okay, I'll keep watching. (Although I liked her much better in the sequels)
Monkey/Mother? GREAT choice. (Okay, at this point I'm waiting to hear an actual protagonist listed, other than the passive, helpless Thumbelina)
Astrid? Another great choice. Alas, still a supporting character rather than a protagonist.
Mrs. Brisby -- NOW we've got a protagonist, and also a strong animated heroine at a time when they were much rarer.
Mask of the Phantasm? Okay, I suppose villains can have a place on the list.
Anastasia? Yes. This deserves to be #1.
Overall: 1) I like the characters on the list, but I'm disappointed that so many of them are supporting players/sidekicks whose job is to help the heroes rather than be the heroes.
2) Thumbelina? Surely Coraline, Ginger from Chicken Run, or Emily from Tim Burton's Corpse Bride would be a thousand times more deserving of a spot on a list like this. They had personalities. They did things. They stood up for themselves.

Okay I haven't even made it past the intro yet but I AM SO HAPPY THAT CERA WAS EVEN MENTIONED! As a general rule, anything relating to Land Before Time makes me so happy, and the Cera from the first movie gives so much depth to her personality because she isn't mean by nature - she's just raised by a pigheaded traditionalist father, and she's trying to navigate a world she barely knows without her entire herd to protect her. Honestly, she could have turned out a lot worse, and her bullying and stubbornness is held in control by the influence of the rest of The Gang.
Now watching and YES TO ASTRID! SHE'S AWESOME! Seriously, she is one of the best parts of that series, next to the duo of Hiccup and Toothless.

The Last Unicorn is in my top five favorite movies of all time which might not mean much until you know that I am a massive cinephile and absolutely love movies. I grew up watching The Last Unicorn and absolutely love it. I also love that Anya is number one because she is a tough tomboy princess who doesnt take anyones crap, so I think shes awesome.

I agree with number 3, number 2 and number 1. Number 3 because Mrs. Brisby is a mother who would do anything for her kids and Number 2 because Andrea is similar to Batman BUT shes a more murderous vigilante than The Dark Knight and you dont want to piss her off and get in her way and Number 1 because DAMN! You dont WANT to piss HER off
