'The Crown' should reflect reality. Let the Queen & Prince Philip's lives of service remind everyone of the huge, tangible power for peace and stability the British monarchy is for everyone in Britain, the commonwealth and for the world. In the 19th & 20th centuries the U. S. A, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Greece suffered in various ways civil wars, political storms, and dictatorships. This shows what can go wrong in the absence of a head of state which is above politics, which opposes illegal dictatorship and helps keep the peace. If there are many reasons England, Wales, Scotland, Canada and Australia, have had no civil war since Culloden in 1746, having a constitutional monarchy is an important one.
Of course the Queen & Prince Philip had their failings as parents, and Prince Philip could be tactless. Whatever mistakes the royal family have made, let us be grateful for the service they give, and for the difference the monarchy makes for the better, in everybody's lives.

Tbh as a Brit and Royalist I was quite offended by the amount of misinformation throughout all 3 seasons, so far. At times I found it downright upsetting. Especially the scene where our Queen makes an awfully insensitive speech to auto workers at a Jaguar Factory in 56. It simply never happened and there is no way our Queen would exercise such a degree of misjudgement. Brilliant show, very entertaining and I will watch every season still to be released, however there should be a disclaimer at the beginning which states about 50% of the show is either guess work or put there for dramatic effect. I did like the episode in season 3 about the Aberfan mining disaster in Wales. It was very accurate and done sensitively, with actual relatives of victims and survivors included in the production and even offered counselling after production.

Phillip has a love-hate relationship with his son based on the fact that Charles will be King and Phillip never will (Charles technically outranks Phillip, and, there are at least TWO biographies of Charles that indicate he was sent to Gordonstoun to toughen him up. The tormenting her received at the hands of his fellows isn't made up. Charles himself, in his younger years didn't speak highly of his time there. It is only NOW, in his twilight years that he speaks of the positive benefits of such a draconian educational experience.

I don't think JFK was quite as gauche as portrayed. He was educated at Choate and Harvard College. His father was US Ambassador to the Court of St. James from 1938-1940 so he was no stranger to court life. And his sister was the Marquess of Hartlington. He may not have been quite as sycophantic and obsequious as the British courtiers may have liked, but he was the President of the United States, the head of state, and very much the equal of the Queen.

Okay, so I think it is soo-ez not swez. And people in the UK, including the royal family and parliamentarians, refer to their own country as the UK or Great Britain or Britain. I am pretty sure it was Britain that dealt with the Suez crisis as a nation, not just the English part. I think the defense forces have members from all over the UK, not just England, who would have been involved.

Of course Phillip has mistresses what rock would people have to be living under to think anything else but it's not an issue it's just how it was with royalty back then when he was young. You have to consider how busy he and his wife got and everyone needs comfort. If either of them had a bit on the side I don't think it was out of not having love for each other but more a side effect of stress on the relationship!

It's not mixed The Formative and the man he is today comments from Gordensten aren't that much of an argument that he had a good time just that it shaped him like any school to any person. If he went to Eton for example he'd probably be a slightly different person.

I didn't watch the video because I get so tired of folks always looking for the worse in everything, but I wanted to make a comment. For me, The Crown got everything right as far as entertainment goes. The acting was superb! PEACE to ALL and STAY SAFE and HEALTHY.

President Kennedy and Jackie Kennedy would have known how to behave when meeting the Queen. Kennedys father had been American Ambassador in Britain in the years just before WWII. Jackie came from a very wealthy family. Ridiculous.

Don't call David a sympathizer - that's too kind of a description. If you sympathize with Nazis then you ARE a Nazi, full stop. David was a Nazi - had he not abdicated this would be a very, very different world.

Prince Philip childhood is so sad his father was an ass wipe such a shit to his son but he was a better father to his own children. I never was a great fan of his but since the series I like him a little more.
