I saw an older version of this movie called A Night to Remember. Although I've seen this version the older version was more simple and focused on several passengers from all classes and on the crew. Even the scenes after they hit the iceberg were so simple but moving. Seeing what the tragedy must have been like with 1, 500 people dying just gutted me for the first time thinking about what a grand scale loss this was and how scared and lonely those people were especially on a freezing night in the darkness of deep sea. Huge tragedy thinking the ship was impossible to sink. One wife (who survived) was always skeptical that it would not sink because she thought those boasts were challenging to God. Well she was right. Disproportionately more men died and more of the third class passengers who were kept out of the top deck until too late died. Thank goodness it is hard to imagine how ineffective preparation was for this scale loss with rescue vessels being inept, poor communication, and of course complete inability to detect the huge iceberg, although the South Korean Sweol tragedy is still unbelievable.

To me this movie, more than any other cultural signpost, was a bridge from our past to our present. It had some great scenes and moments, representing cutting edge American culture which led the world in the twentieth century. But it also has cheesey, sappy, corny moments depicting the nostalgic, wannabe culture we've become (you jump I jump! -- gimme a freaking break. Certain things about America are better now than they used to be, like beginning to reckon with our dastardly sins of the past, and to its credit this movie addresses some of those, but our culture -- the music, movies, sports, etc, of today -- have become basic, sterile, idiotic and cringe worthy. You can see that spiral actually take place in this film.

I've always chosen to believe that Rose dies in the end. When she makes that promise to Jack in the water, his exact words were you're gonna die an old lady, warm in her bed. Not here. Not this night. Not like this. We see that exact same thing play out in the final scenes.
The pictures of her on the table riding a horse with 1 leg on each side, her standing beside a plane, etc. These are proof of the promise she made. Being back on the Titanic with Jack is her Heaven.
I also like to think that she kept the story of Jack & her true experience on Titanic in her heart for 84 years. She finally got to tell it. The burden was lifted. She was finally at peace. literally & figuratively.

Well on roblox theres a load of Titanic games but when playing survive the titanic and the ship really goes down you here near my god to Thea it really makes emotions come to life and yes this photo is Kate and Leo holding hands together but people who play the game will know about that its worth trying I actually went to the front of the ship with sunset and said Im flying jack just like Rose and lowered the lifeboat then got in but if you try and climb onto the other side of the bow for like just like jack and Rose that doesnt work very well

I was tiny little three year old when my parents got the VHS tapes And used a Mickey Mouse beanie as my
Jack and Minnie Mouse as my Rose. I would act out all the scenes except the car scene and drawing scene I was sent out. I cried when she physically let go of Jack because I didnt know the concept of not letting go emotionally at age 3. This is definitely a movie that I enjoy despite how much it makes me cry.

Msmojo, as sad as it would be if Rose died and went to the afterlife and didn't just fall asleep at the end of Titanic, that does technically mean that she and Jack would be reunited forever, so I'm sticking with that.

I have never watched this movie, and have just got around to watching Jack's death and Rose's rescue scene. Gosh, this movie was well acted, that was so good.
Edit: BOY, so many good scenes according to this video.

I hate the ending of this film. Losing somebody you're that in love with like that might not be possible to recover from, not easily anyway. I also don't understand why she didn't try to keep his body with her

Still think Rose could of given Jack a little more room on the door. Always thought Rose dies the end & goes to Heaven. And while it would never work the idea of a movie of Rose's adventures would of been fun.

Nada de eso sucedio no hubo esto personaje de amor fue inventada, para romantisar y desviar una trajedia real y cruel que paso y no lo presentaron las cosas como son, tantas vidas q se perdieron alli.

To this day I still think that rose died at the end and meet up with Jack in the afterlife they did promise each other that they'll never let go this movie still makes me cry both happy and sad tears

I also love deleted scenes: then Jack and Rose are singing and looking on a shooting star, then Rose came to 3rd class to meet Jack, Rose trying to take her dress of before her suicidal attempt.

This is a great list, but Molly Brown (Kathy Bates) had some of the best one liners and moments. It's a shame she didn't make it anywhere on the list.

The elderly couple on their bed, Mother tucking her children in bed for the lady time, and musicians play together were all scenes that broke my heart.

I feel bad for rose husband because the whole time the guy she truly loved is dead after saving her from her life and from dying

Swear my first moment crying was when Thomas Andrews (based on a real person) said goodbye to Rose and gave her his lifebelt

I could t stop crying while watching the movie and now this
Ahhhhhh
I'm not crying there's just something in my eye

I still cant get over Rose letting Jack freeze to death. There was enough room for the both of them on that thing
reply

Without a doubt this ending has no flaws, when in the lines and actors all of them are incredibly amazing.

I'll never forgive oscars for not giving DiCaprio or Winslet Oscar for their outstanding performance.

I think TITANIC is the greatest movie in the history of humankind, regardless of whatever anyone says
