On March 10, 1997, I didn't even hear about this show. I first heard about Buffy probably when I was in middle school about 4 years later. I saw the books in my local library, checked it out and started watching a few of the episodes. At the time, Buffy was on a network called UPN which no longer exists. It's now called My (some number depending on where you live) TV. Where I live it's called My50 TV. CW is the amalgamation of WB and UPN just fyi. But damn this was a long time ago. These were the good times.

The best scene, is the one with the most understated question of all time. What's that do?
The answer? Well, how do you deal with a demon brought to the Earth Dimension for the singular purpose of wiping out humanity, enchanted so that no known weapon of man forged (circa iron age) could kill him.
Answer, you use something a little more advanced. What's that do? It's a rocket launcher, and it wasn't exactly forged by a blacksmith.
KaBoooom goes the answer to the Judge's query.
Season 2 Episode 14

I agree with #1 but wasn't it more she had to stab him because that was the only way to shut the portal, not because she was protecting herself. I mean she knew full well his soul was back but that she had no choice except to sacrifice him because there was no other way to close the portal. That whole scene with the fighting, catching the sword and her sacrifice of someone she loved and sending them to hell for the good of the world was what made that whole ending episode emotionally powerful.

Damn. now I want to watch the whole show again. And did anyone notice that the scene where Captain Marvel finally unleashes her inner powers is almost a carbon copy of the scene where Buffy shares her power? Loved it but nothing can top the original, and the message that power needs to be shared to be effective. an act of pure selflessness, knowing she will no longer be The One. I love Buffy, one of the very best TV shows ever, and what female characters!

No TV show has the same emotional hold on me that Buffy does. Seeing this, I just can't help but cry, and I pretty much never cry, over anything. One episode, is almost too hard to watch though, 5x16 - The Body. Whenever I watch that episode, I'm just completely exhausted from crying during the entire episode.
So. the question is. in these Corona times, do I just pull out the old episodes and binge? :P

I think that the fight with all the vamps at the end of the first episode of season 2 should have been on the list, because she accomplished what she set out to do in a matter of minutes. She got her rage out by killing every single one, and then she was able to come to terms with her own mortality when she (in the words of Xander) ground her enemy into talcum powder.

You have the wrong definition of badass apparently. It seems that this video should have been called best moments or something, you talk of some highlights of the show but moments of badassness of Buffy are more in less big moments (like talked below the answer she gave to the demon in Anne or the me to Angel for example. I love Buffy but this video is trash.

This is something that drives me nuts when people say Buffy died 2 times technically it was 3 times. Season 1 Xander brought her back with CPR. Season 6 beginning willow did a spell and she came back in her grave and middle or towards end of season 6 she was shot Tara Died Buffy was Technically Died and dark willow brought her back so it is 3 times.

It may not be the most epic scene in the series but I thought it was pretty cool when Buffy had her powers taken away because she was being tested by the council and she winds up killing the bad by tricking him into drinking holy water to take his pills. As a vampire, it would seem that would be a pretty horrible way to go

according to Stephanie meyer, her vampires can only be killed when you behead them and torch their bodies
according to twihards, Edward is the strongest and therefore slayers can't defeat him
according to buffy's rocket launcher, Edward as good as dead.

This show was so loved by so many. Time for at LEAST a spinoff (Xander, the later years etc) Even Buffy - I mean. what happens to an 80 yr old slayer with all those busted bones? Theres loads of story avenues they could explore. This show needs a return.

I really love the scene of buffy and angelus fighting even though its brutal
The look he gives her and says you cant do it you cant kill me
Then she kicks him in the balls and walks away saying give me time

Hold up, no mention of scenes with Glory! This list is absolutely garbage. Glory was one of the most underrated characters. Not mention when she finally split Caleb in half, like seriously cmon. You need a do over.

Some people think Buffy's actress could play the Bionic woman in a remake or continuation and interestingly Buffy and the Bionic woman Jamie have the same last name summers

Did it occur to anyone else, that when Buffy killed Angel - she missed his heart, and besides that, only wood through the heart can kill a vampire. Not a sword in the stomach!

Didn't realize I was watching a feminist show. Just thought I was watching a show about a Slayer who killed vampires and who happened to be a female. And being smoking hot!

Buffy kicking down the door was also a throwback to season 1 when she claimed she wasn't that strong so it shows how much power she has gained through the years

I know this show is super corny but I love it so much. I grew up watching it. Now I want my daughter to watch it with me. Buffy will always be my favorite show.

Such a class series, it's hard to choose one moment that stands out. Some great choices on this list. Just brilliant and a huge series for empowering women.

My favorite funny moment of Buffy was when she threaten both Riley and Angel with hospitalization after they kept on fighting in her room.
reply

For a really early one, how about the pilot when she just glares at the two vampires holding Xander in the Bronze and they drop him and run.
reply

Weird tangent but if Dawn is made from Buffy, wouldnt it be more accurate to say Dawn is Buffys daughter rather than her sister?
reply

OK loved the bad willow scene but they missed my favorite quote of willows Ohh uh daddy's home, looks like I'm in wicked trouble now
reply

Ok, I KNOW this is Buffy's badass moments, but it's criminal to cut number 5 just before 'I'd like to test that theory' >: (: D
reply

In both the Buffy lists her killing angel is number 1? Kinda lame. I guess it was one of the most dramatic scenes in the show.

When B faced the Council she should have demanded a Salary. then she wouldn't have to work at the 'Double Meat Palace'. =)

First time I put dislike. First minute in, reading the comments and learning best moments havent even made the list, hm.
reply

Well the 2nd death was the end of season 5 but was just saying when she got brought back which was the beginning of 6th

This was one of my all time favorite shows on the air in the late 90s. I loved this and Dawson's Creek!
reply

The tv show had a lot more classic moments, Unlike the terrible movie version that came out before it.
