I should rather say, 5 reasons to stick to the book and forget about the TV movie. (In a mid-credits scene, Amma is seen with her friends killing Ann, then Natalie, and her killing Mae on her own) why is this not shown in the movie? No one sits through the long shopping list of credits. It's a nice flick though. No movie could ever be expected to represent what was written in a book. Why did Killian Flynt allow the TV director to do away with the crux of the matter? It baffles me. The real culprit of the girls' assassination was not Adora. They insist in presenting Amma as a cute nonchalant tomboyish girl. By no means is she the ingenue lovingly allowing her mother to play nurse of her. Amma's Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde aspect is hidden in the movie. It is barely hinted at when Camilla, at the very end of the flick inspects the dollhouse. Not even 5 minutes are allowed the spectator to wonder what happened to Mae.

This series is actually better than the book, and the book is great. People always ask why males can't relate to female characters in movies today. Well, maybe it's because they're always so perfect and aspirational and nobody male or female is really like that. Camille is a great character, completely flawed but very sympathetic. And this is such a perfect portrayal of what goes on in small towns. The villain in this is the most frightening character I've ever seen and (spoiler) is played by an a18-year-old girl from Australia. Vallee's filmmaking with his ambiguous and unexplained flashbacks is incredible. It's really dark and hard to watch, but I really loved it.

#1 reason to watch for us (my wife and I) is because the pilot was so entrancing that we cannot wait to watch the rest of the series. Damn, Adams return to a tortured soul- type role (like in Nocturnal Animals) is probably her greatest acting style. That girl can express more with her face than most others can say with words.

im in the third episode to be honest I lost interest because I saw the first episode like 2 months ago. the second one like two weeks ago. and I only clicked on it because of amy addams. but after this I am going to give myself some time so that I can binge it

The only thing I didnt like about this show was the cast for Richard. But overall this show was very well adapted and made me scream because I was waiting for the big finale to see how the dollhouse would be interpreted.
