Okay I think I see a connection between Rachel and Ross and Monica and chandler let's start with Ross and Rachel while chandler and Monica dated for a while I think Monica want too support her brother instead of Rachel the reason why there related brother and sister sis always have too support her brother it's because there are family and that's a main thing and Ross support Monica when she wants too get married with chandler instead himself and Rachel get married and even though Ross and Rachel married in Vegas but that doesn't mean there really married there were drunk and they want too support Monica and Chandler too be married when Ross pushing Rachel about wanting too have a baby there supposed to be married like Chandler and Monica and they adopt babies from Erica but the problem with that is Monica supposed to be pregnant just like Rachel did but when Rachel give birth too Emma Monica try wanted to be like Rachel and I see the connection those ladies and on a break thing was Monica supposed too be out and support Ross was getting dievorse with carol and Emily that we are hate her anyways but I love how those couples should have there own story line like when Chandler and Monica not married and let Ross and Rachel get married or have a double married make sense rights call it a even before we were on a break starts and Ross dates more girls and Rachel still in love with Ross she couldn't say a thing too Ross when Ross got married to Emily

First of all, I seriously believe these two couples are probably the best in TV history, and I love them both like crazy. I rooted for them all along, so I hope no one misjudges my comment.
Monica and Chandler are definitely healthier, and they are the perfect example of how a ideal couple looks like. Hell, they made me realize that my perfect romance is with my best friend! So I really have nothing against them.
Ross and Rachel, however, really are the definition of a toxic relationship. If you think about it, they wasted so many perfect relationships just because they still had feelings for each other, and acted on them after having a baby together! (And three weddings, on Ross side. Yet, for the whole time the show ran, we were praying this two would get together. I literally have binge watched 236 episodes in four months while studying to see this two get their happy ending! So, they may not be perfect, they might not be healthy, but they surely are iconic. Thats why my vote goes to them. Im sorry, but if I think of Friends, I think of them.

Monica and Chandler were already functional human beings. They had their flaws but their flaws were no where comparable to Ross and Rachel. Rachel grew from a spoiled Rich Girl to a independent confident women and Ross from a jealous man to an accepting and understanding human beings. Ross and Rachel were very young when they dated as compared to Chandler and Monica who were very old when they start dating so they were very mature. So over time Ross and Rachel grew individually and end up together. So this show is actually about their individual growth.
Chandler Monica provided a feel good factor. They were already functional independent people but were struggling to find relationships. So their relationship looks mature. But I think you can't compare these couples because of the time, circumstances of how they met and their personalities.

Ive seen every episode of this show more than once, but when it originally aired, I didnt REALLY get into it until Monica and Chandler got together. They were both sweet, but unlucky in relationships until they fell in love, and they were more relatable to me than either Ross or Rachel.
In the beginning, you feel bad for Ross, and want to see him get the girl simply because hes been pining for so long.
That being said, for the majority of series, theyre bickering more than anything else, Rosss jealousy was childish and annoying, and especially after they broke up, Rachel didnt hesitate to take several shots at Ross. Theyre relationship was so dysfunctional that I honestly didnt care if they ended up together in the end.
Monica and Chandler complimented each other, accepted each others flaws, enhanced each others strengths, and stood by each other no matter what. They outshine Ross and Rachel by a landslide

Rachel's character was ment to portray a women growing into an independent person. One who thinks beyond just raising a baby or being a wife to a man. that was a great intent and appreciable. But still Rachel is a self centred and one of the worst characters in friends. She just takes whatever she wants. She even took the name Emma which was going to be Monica's daughter name. seriously who would do such a thing to a friend, especially when you know how serious is monic about children. and Ross is a hope less unstable guy who needed therapy. this couple is just toxic. I hated them from the 1st season. Watched the show for Joe Chandler monica and Phebe

I really don't care which one was better and I'm in the minority I don't like Monica and Chandler as couple. I don't hate it, just didn't click for me and they do have some moments, and just didn't like how they set them up which felt was lazy.
Awhile I like Ross and Rachel but acknowledge the problems it had which I kind of blame the writers which no disrespect to the writers.

Chandler went from having disastrous relationships to a stable relationship with Monica.
I mean common, they were actually the couple goals. They had a healthy relationship and even their fights weren't about anything toxic. They both were totally how a relationship should be, healthy, filled with love and understanding each other's emotions. Even though Mondler is like a fairy tale and difficult to find(stability, non toxicity, trusting eachother) I actually believed that not just being soulmates will make a relationship work. It requires a lot more than that.

I enjoyed when they were hiding their relationship in season 5 but once Chandler moved in with Monica his character was diluted. When Chandler was living with Joey, that was when his character was at his best.
What probably helps giving the vote to Ross and Rachael was that they got together during the peak of the show when it was at it's best. Seasons 1-3 are just a different level.

Ross and Rachel were perfect for each other. Chandler and Monica were perfect for each other. Ross couldn't be happy with anyone else because they were not Rachel, and Chandler couldn't have loved anyone else. Both relationships are completely different, so there's no comparison. Honestly I totally disagree I believe Chandler and Monica's Relationship was the best thing about the show. Before I finished the series I was told a spoiler about them getting together and getting married and honestly that's what kept me going. Other then Joey and Phoebe.

I beg to disagree with Ross and Rachel being more iconic couple than Monica and Chandler. There is Mondler for a reason. The development of their relationship is one of the biggest factor on the rewatchability of the show. Mondler will and always be iconic.
