WatchMojo misses it again. The Pilot has the funniest joke in the whole series and it's only on screen for like 2 seconds.
It's the background where he shows the karma points kit for various actions to Eleanor in his office. in the number of points you get or get subtracted for doing various things. Its the only joke I really laugh pretty hard at in the whole series.

This has been driving me crazy for YEARS now, and I'm venting here. Pobody's Nerfect was a huge thing in the 70's. It was used in MAD magazine all the time (nearly every issue) and showed up in Cracked. Then became popular on T-shirts with those puffy plastic letters, and branched everywhere. Thank you for attending my TED talk.

There's one more small detail from the scene with Michael tending bar that wasn't mentioned. Instead of going for the obvious reference and making the bar look like the one from the Cheers TV show they instead made it look like the bar from the real Cheers Beacon Hill (aka the Bull & Finch) in Boston. Nice detail!

One that I really love is in one of the reboots, we see Eleanor's place again and the walls are stuffed with more clown portraits. I get a kick out of the demon mentality which was like weird clowns are scary, more weird clowns must be scarier, as if that was why it didn't work the first time, not enough clowns.

ok this video was crap because I noticed most of those on my second time watching the show (didn't have to focus as much on the storyline so I noticed things in the background more. But these comments are next level! Things most people would never notice! Blowing my mind away

The best foreshadowing for me (which I think might be the best ever on any show) is in the very first episode when Eleanor talks about her parents being in hell and says: Maybe they're used to torture each other. My jaw literally dropped upon my first rewatch

This show has such good attention to detail, but one EGREGIOUS inconsistency. They say every US president except Lincoln is in the Bad Place, but also that no one has made it to the Good Place in 500 years, and I didnt see Lincoln at Mindy St. Clairs.

I also love that in this scene 7: 17 we can see that Rihanna's Bodyguard is her enemy but we get no context. Later in the episode she talks about how she licked Rihanna and got kicked out of her show. I forking love The Good Place.

How could they not even mention the tahani magazine that was right beside the celebrity baby magazine when Eleanor that the grocery store we literally just got a close-up of it in this video and it was still not mentioned
reply

Am I the only one that noticed John asked if 322 was a special number when Janet said that was the number of residents in the neighbourhood and then that was the name of Michaels apartment in the final scene/episode

This show had one of the most satisfactory endings of all time! Was expecting to feel underwhelmed, disappointed, and dissatisfied- but I felt the opposite. They closed the chapter properly. I'll miss this show.

Another easter egg. In the Jacksonville airport scene when Jason calls the taxi, it runs over another car which has the Mindy St. Clair Alliance on top of it which the gang assumed was the original taxi.

A note about #9:
When the Judge is going through the Janets' voids, you can see a Pirates 12 poster in a Bad Janet's void. So, yeah, somebody in the series' staff really hates the franchise.

reply

This video is so annoying, several of the big easter eggs were dang obvious, and the actual cool ones you made us pause your video a ton of times to read them ourselves.
reply

I think its the Michael who says all the friends from Friends are in the bad place except for Phoebe. Lisa Kudrow has an appearance as a character in the real Good Place
reply

My favourite one is when Michael is showing the judge the points for buying tomatoes on earth aand it says that the person bought the tomatoes from food and stuff.
reply

OKAY! So that one guy wrote some of the best tv shows? I mean he helped write Parks and Rec, The Office, Brooklyn 99, AND The Good Place? Talk about talent.
reply

They actually made several Pirates of the Caribbean jabs. I just finished Season 4 and in one of the Janet's voids there is a huge poster for Pirates 12
reply

This and parks and rec take place in the same universe just so you know. One example is the Swanson safe that Jason dies in. Swanson as in Ron Swanson
reply

My favorite Easter Egg has gotta be how Micheal's room number in like the last 5 minutes is 322, the number of residents in the original Good Place
reply

7: 44 is tahanis face on a magazine cover. Then later in the series it is revealed that she got a chance to get her face on a magazine cover
reply

Um also the horse that plays little sebastian is in the good place. also ik this was released b4 season 4 but ron swanson cameos in it
reply

My favorite that i only know about because of the podcast is at some point someone has a tattoo that just says Japan in chinese letters.
reply

Tahani's statment: if you love someone, set them free is a great theme that comes back in the finale when Eleanor has to let Chidi go.
reply

Also in the very last episode when that guy goes over to give Michael his rewards card the name on the paper said Michael realman
reply

One of my favorite blank and you will miss it details is that the Nemo Cafe is on the corner of THISISA St and THISISNOTA St.
reply

4: 15, yes there's a connection there, but you do realize, Swanson is an actual company that includes safes in their inventory.
reply

Since judge loves to binge on tv series, Michael must have created the good place scenario for her to watch afterlife.
reply

The slide is page 4815 of 162342. The Good Place happens in the same universe as Lost - Which fits Lost plot perfectly
reply

Easter egg in the series finale (SPOILER):
Michaels room number is 322, there are 322 residents in his neighborhood.
