Musicals that would be interesting to see.
-All of Disney's animated features from Robin Hood to Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1973-1988)
-Leo The Lion
-Cats Don't Dance
-Tiny Toon Adventures: How I Spent My Vacation
-Sing (YES)
-The Emoji Musical
-Bee Musical
Edit: Nearly a year later, here are some more interesting ones.
-Leap! (Come ON! This one is PERFECT for Broadway)
-Tinker Bell
-An American Tail
-Thumbelina
-9
-Chicken Run
-Despicable Me
-The Ant Bully
-A Bug's Life
-Antz
-Shrek 2-4 (They already did 1, might as well do the rest of them)
Also, 2 musicals based on animated shows that I would LOVE to see!
-Peter Rabbit (Musical Mayhem was freaking amazing, so how about they attempt an ENTIRE STAGE MUSICAL based on the series? With music composed by the composer of the series and lyrics by the writers of the show? And they'd have child Broadway/West End actors play all of the child characters! Also, the musical would be canon to the series)
-Uncle Grandpa (Imagine all of the special effects)

Speaking as a theater lover AND an animation lover, I hate musicals based on animated movies. They never leave any room for creativity - everything has to look exactly like the movie, the costumes, the sets, the actors even have to sound like the movie cast, nobody's free to do their own take on anything. At least The Lion King was able to do something original with sets and costumes, but it still ruins it for me that the actors always have to sound just like Nathan Lane, James Earl Jones, Jeremy Irons and the rest of them. Theater should be about creating something new, not repackaging something everyone's seen.

Yes! I am so glad Aladdin is on here! It's one of best shows Disney's ever made and my favorite musical of all time! Thank u MsMojo!
Also I saw Frozen, Anastasia and The Little Mermaid (that last one I was also in myself once) and they were all amazing!
Shrek's opening in Melbourne soon so I'm really hoping to see it. And Lion King. Tried seeing it on Broadway but no avail and it's meant to be on an international tour so when it stops in Melbourne, u can bet I'm seeing it

Im so glad Shrek got some appreciation. It has been a big part of my childhood. A couple years after I started theatre, I was 10 years old and I saw this musical on Netflix. It was the first musical I saw. I was thrilled that this movie had a musical because it is one of my favorite animated movies. Newsies is currently my favorite musical, but Shrek will always be in my heart

Hunchback is amazing. Quasimodo is so sweet I love him! If I could I could just give him a big hug! And take him to see Disney musicals! Im sure he would love them. And he would get emotional. Because you know how he is right? He is a very emotional person, and he would love Disney movies and Broadway musicals!

OK no, treasure planet is an underrated movie, megamind is an underrated movie, monster trucks is an underrated movie. Hunchback of notra dame is NOT an underrated movie. It was a critical & financial success. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!
reply

Heres a fact: Quasimodo uses sign language in the musical version of Hunchback because his hearing has been impaired by the bells he rings. You get verbal English lyrics and ASL lyrics at the same time. So deaf people can enjoy it too!

Shrek is better than Anastasia AND The Little Mermaid? I mean I loved Shrek the Musical, but let's be honest here, there is no way it's better than Anastasia. Your opinion is still valid, but I just really really REALLY strongly disagree.
reply

My top 5: Beauty & The Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Shrek
Favorite Shows On This List That I Have Been In: Shrek & The Little Mermaid
Shows I most want to see: Anastasia & Frozen

reply

I've seen the Hunchback of Notre Dame musical, and it's awesome. I watched my cousin's perform it in a theater. There was a choir behind me, but it is as sad as the book than the animated movie.
reply

I was 7 Year Old Shrek in my high schools production of Shrek the Musical and it was truly the fan favorite and is still counted as the best musical that our high school has ever done.
reply

I was just in a production of The Little Mermaid as Eric, and I can say it makes sense that it was so short lived on Broadway. I think the songs are good but the writing is REALLY bad.
reply

I saw The Lion King live when in came to Phoenix in 2014. It was the most jaw dropping, stunning thing I had ever seen and has sparked my love of musical theater.
reply

Why is it that all of these are Disney expect from Shrek and prince of Egypt?
It should of been called Disney movies that have been made into a musical (+ shrek) xD

reply

So, the primary footage she used for Hunchback was from the 2015 musical, but she didnt even mention that one even though it is much more popular and loved.
reply

Okay so only 2 of these were NOT Disney. Why not just make them all disney? (I'm not counting honourable mentions but even that had Disney in it)
reply

Id thrill for South Park Bigger Longer And Uncut & Wallace And Gromit The Curse Of The Were-Rabbit to be adapted into stage musicals.
reply

Im at number 7 and I swear if they put shrek above Hunchback they gunna catch these hands.
Or at least this dislike.

reply

They were half hour specials- but
how about an honorable mention
for Youre A Good Man Charlie Brown? A real fun one to do.

reply

Not to mention that there was also Toy Story The Musical in Disney cruise ship, in which it ended its performance in 2016.
reply

I think that Anastasia's case is a combination of being from the animated movie and biographical since Anastasia did exist.
reply

the Little Mermaid on broadway was a little ridiculous with the skates, when they redid it with wires, it was top notch.
reply

I must say this: If you haven't seen the Spongebob Squarepants Musical, you should. It's surprisingly good
reply

Frozen the Broadway the other ones not so much I dont wanna see one King again I seen it three times after my Bobby died
reply

Shrek the musical made me who I am! If I hadnt saw it in Newfoundland, I would still be very nervous to sing in public
reply

I think the spongebob musical could wiggle its way into this list.
As its animated and there was a movie made

reply

Im a little salty they Hunchback wasnt further up the list. It should be number one! It is such an amazing show!
reply

Its a shame Finding Nemo: The Musical was discontinued at Disneys Animal Kingdom because it was an epic play
