As a Cuban inmigrant myself, I feel quite out of touch with this family, especially when they reference cuban culture. It is mostly because I was born in the 90's in Cuba, and my parents and grandparents live the entire generetion of Cuba with Fidel, so watching a show that references my culture with Lydia who left with Peter Pan and what she transmited to the family reflecting almost only the Cuba before the 60's feels outdated and doesn't make me feel identified as Cuban. Also, they state issues that the latino community suffers in general in America, which makes their ethnicity feel kind of shallow and with no personality. When I heard about his show portraying a Cuban-American family I was expecting to constanly say OMG, same with my family! but none of that, it felt like a time machine of cultural references and I gotta admit that disapointed me a little.

I started watching this show after hearing good things about it and I'm interested to see how it evolves entering in further seasons. What I love is that this show is a REAL sitcom. Not some water downed Disney crap (my first impression. Dealing with real issues like shows did in the 90's: divorce, addiction, therapy, etc. Everyday issues that people can relate to with the perfect amount of humor mixed in.

I dont understand how a show like this that is actually relatable and funny get canceled. But a boring ass show like The Ranch can last to having 8 parts with 10 episodes each. I would rather watch 80 episodes or MORE of One Day At A Time than 1 episode of The Ranch. Netflix is shit for doing that I tell you. They stay be canceling entertaining shows and leave us with the boring shitty ones.

one of my favorites episodes is the one when Lydia had a stroke. When everyone started talking to her really made my cry, but the saddest moment was when Penelope talks to her, showing anger but then saying that she wanted Lydia to argue with her again, and also Berto and Lydia's conversation and when she says that it's not the time, I cryed a lot with this episode.

I started watching the show 2 months ago and Not yet made me cry a lot, especially Elena's bedside speech because I lost my abuelita 6 months ago and I didn't even get to say goodbye because the people at the hospital wouldn't let me visit her and she passed while I was at school.

#6 definitely made me cry again in like 5 seconds i remembered that episode so clearly and I cried during it and I don't think I'll ever stop crying when I see it because it really hits home. Elena is a badass and I love her and wish I had her courage.

The last episode of the first season hit me hard because my mother did not support me when I came out and I wish I had Penelope as a mother I cry every time I watch it cause I knew instantly that what victor did was something my mom would do

Netflix made a HUGE mistake canceling this show. It was absolutely amazing in every way, and I miss it a lot: ( Does anybody know where I can find the episodes? Or the new season, as I heard another company is saving it?

Drinking and Driving and Hello Penelope were definitely my number one episodes. I can't chose between those 2. Those 2 episodes were extremely emotional for me. They made me cry so much.

Literally every episode they have has taught me a lesson. Every episode made me laugh and tear up. Netflix shouldn't have cancelled the show. it was honestly the perfect type of show.

Its was a great show but its now canceled. The writers have to realize normal people are sick of the SJW shit these dummys had it made but like the saying goes Get woke go broke.

For those who didnt know Season 4 of ODAAT is on Pop TV, its only 7 episodes rn and (Spoiler Alert) they make fun of Netflix for canceling them on the first episode of season 4

The episode Hello, Penelope shows depression better than 13 Reasons Why. And this is coming from someone who not only has depression but also studies psychology
reply

Literally who made this list. How did Hello Penelope not make top spot? HOW DID NOT YET NOT GET A SPOT PERIOD? I AM LITERALLY SO
CONFUSED
