5: 26 her history might not excuse her later actions tbh I think it does, Oz wanted her to be the Wicked Witch and thats exactly what she did, in the song no good deed she's finally reached her breaking point, and can you blame her? She has done nothing but be kind and save animals and all she gets in return is her loved ones being killed and being shunned by everyone, so, when she says the line let all Oz be agreed, I'm wicked though and through, since I cannot succeed, Fyaro saving you, I promise no good deed will I attempt to do again she's basically going full on mother gothel and saying you want me to be the bad guy? Fine. Now I'm the bad guy she simply gave Oz what they wanted. Not to mention, all she wanted from Dorothy where the shoes, litterally if she just handed over the shoes then everything would have been fine, I mean, the girl stole the only thing that remained of Elphabas sister, and Elphaba is the bad guy for wanting it back? Yeah I don't think so

Javert's suicide from Les Mis gets me EVERY TIME. Javert losing his view of the world and all the different reasons he jumped are so tragic. He felt he deserved eternity in Hell for what he'd done, and suicide is a guarantee to Hell; He felt like he was living in Hell anyway now he didn't know what to do anymore, so there'd be no difference; He felt trapped and that the Seine was the only way out; and all his other reasons. I've never cried harder at a musical in my life.

My local high school did Les Mis when I was in 5th grade and I was lucky enough to get to play one of the street kids (extra. I was too young at the time to understand the full extent of the story but every night we performed the show, I remember sitting in the balcony and crying to Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Every night. Without fail. Absolutely beautiful song that just drips in sadness and sorrow.

It sucks DEH to so long to make and thus was panned for the casting (though you CANT NOT cast Ben Platt. That being said I would love for Waitress to be remade into a musical movie. Youd have to keep Jessie and Keala thats a must. Jeremy Jordan would make a good Dr Pomatter, and personally Id like Billy Ray Cyrus as Cal, idk why but when I hear his parts I hear Billy.

I have had a thirty year debate with a friend over this issue. It started when we were in college. It got more intense when he became a professional actor and I only perform in the occasional community theater show.
I saw a video from one of those musical coaches who explained the technical dangers of getting carried away with these ugly crying songs.
