I would've added films like Sugar & Spice, But I'm A Cheerleader, Detroit Rock City and Can't Hardly Wait. I really think Never Been Kissed shouldn't be on the list. I feel it has a bigger fan-base than it gets credit for. Even if you ask people who grew up in that era pool. A lot wouldn't remember these ones(on the list or in my comment) or maybe have watched them once back then, but have fondness for Never Been Kissed, just haven't re-watched it in awhile. Oh and even tho I love Empire Records I'd refer to it as a bigger budget studio attempt to capitalize on Clerks success. Glad it was put on the list.

I wouldn't call about half the movies on this list teen movies so much as movies about teenagers. I think teen movies need to star the teen idols of their time and be targeted to a teen audience. Never Been Kisses, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Empire Records for sure but things like Welcome to the Dollhouse, Slums of Beverly Hills and Newsies not so much.

I was 13 when Newsies came out, and I think I had crushes on half the cast, especially the guy who played David. Drop Dead Gorgeous is still one of my favorite movies, and as a proud Minnesotan by birth, the exaggerated accents crack me up every time!

My ex acted with the main woman from Cry Baby so I met her. Awful woman. She ended up drunk driving after a show and killed someone, and all she could say was what about me? That movie should die so she gets nothing from it.

Im missing another movie. Strike (featuring Kirsten Dunst, Rachel Leigh Cook, Heather Matarazzo) that one is also extremely highly underrated. and I never see it on any lists, which makes it even more underrated

Love Drop Dead Gorgeous. Its absolutely hilarious

Never Been Kissed is super creepy if you think about it. I love that movie, but, the teacher was falling for, what he Thought, was a 17 year old girl. Then he got mad when he found out she was older?

Yes, Jawbreaker is a pale imitation of Heathers. But Heathers is by far the greatest teen movie ever made so not being as good as Heathers is no vice. Jawbreaker is still good.
