I was 16 when this movie came out and I will say the wardrobe looks in the film were reflective of that time, not that they influenced that time. We definitely wore all of those trends, but we were already wearing them when the film premiered.
Except for the Halloween/Christmas costumes and Wednesday rule. That definitely came from this film. No one really adapted the other rules lol
