The protagonist was annoying, unhinged and also a horrible person. Also her mom didn't even think twice before selling her dad's possessions, Devi seeing her dad in the coyote like common we are a tad bit superstitious but they showed us to be nutcases. Pretty sure show must've been written and directed by some white person and don't get me started on the shameless Riverdale advos. Devi is shown so desperate and insecure and borderline psychotic, also her cousin in one dialogue says she found a bollywood movie where the lead girl falls in love with a beggar and it's 7 HOURS LONG! So they mean bollywood is a steaming pile of horseshit( which it is) but as if Riverdale is a masterpiece. Mom's like a rabid hound, shallow and horrible. Show's horrid no other way to put it, I'm sorry I stuck till the end tried so hard to like it but Bugger all happened.

To me this is not relatable because its another nerd with perfect grades complaining about not being popular.
A person can have average or low grades and not be popular.
Edit:
That being said I do realize its probably relatable to some people and I should enjoy this show for what it is and not what I want it to be. I know if I ever make something like this I would want the same treatment.

Love this show and can't wait for more! The last scene on the beach made me ugly-cry. I love that Devi is shown as a REAL teen and her character has so many layers. The level of grief she's going through and her reactions to it are not sugarcoated in any way, and her awkwardness about dating is hilariously accurate too.

This show is amazing. It portrays many Indian elements carefully and correctly. Making the main character a Tamil (south Indian region) is the icing on the cake. It's refreshing and liberating to see an Indian who doesn't speak Hindi or cooks chicken biryani for dinner on an American television show for a change!

Good story, man. If Mindy Kaling did a show about Indian kids who wanna escape the hellhole that is India, it would serve as a justice to the suicides that Students in India have committed due to the shitty indian Educationa system and the Educational ministry run by a minister who is a Uneducated village rustic

It didn't portray indian culture correctly, Not all of us are conservative minded. Don't forget that Indian American are the
richest ethnicity in America and most of the American companies CEO are Indian. So we are more brilliant than a white skinhead.

Lot of characterization mistakes. Its same like eating Indian curry in Boston or London or any other place than India, diluted sweetened and losing its originality. Would have preferred the director to present as is it would have been more funny

Im kinda happy she ended up with Ben, I know shell probably be with Paxton next season but he just didnt appreciate her enough, he wasnt a jerk, Ben was just always there for her and perhaps was less cute, but way sweeter.

So No one is gonna mention how surprisingly attractive Prashant is. but this show is actually really good demonstrating exactly how some people deal with traumatic events but not really dealing with it. it pulled me in!

It shows stereotypes and banks on it when it is not. Few scenes are even cringy. It's not an amazing show or must-watch show.
If you bored and you have watched everything on netflix then you can watch this show.

The supporting cast rocks! Watching Indian/American culture through teenage eyes is refreshing, and using Macenroe to narrate, eventhough i hate the guy, I give him props, it works and very funny!

Im a gay 22 year old white man and this show is still so relatable, really really funny and extremely sad. Mindy is a genius and the entire cast is. Im currently on Season 2 Episode 2.
