I'm going to be THAT guy, though only for those movies that I've seen.
#10. It depends on how the body was embalmed. Winifred was a witch and had sewn his lips together. Since she knows how to resurrect him to do her bidding, it stands to reason that she prepared him for that moment.
Better Plot Hole: The kids weren't affected by the witch's singing despite not covering their ears either.
#9. It's not fair to use such reasoning in pressured situations. Things are usually easy in hindsight and we tend to look back on it as Why didn't I? Why? Because in the moment you didn't think of it.
Better Plot Hole: Touch nothing but the lamp. They were touching so much gold and treasure by accident that Abu's incidental catching of the gem wouldn't have meant anything.
#8. Most people probably didn't know nor even care why he was the chosen successor. Even if they did, he's the king NOW and they're not going to contest it. Even in real world history that's happened.
Better Plot Hole: Why bother with an easily navigated iron maze? An iron gate/doorway/portcullis would've been cheaper and much more effective.
#7. Never Saw It.
#6. He's probably been spotted a number of times and nobody said anything about it or nobody would believe them. Why not? Because without proof adults would probably be taken as lunatics and children thought to be imaginative. What REALLY got him to take her? HE saw HER spotting him! He's known for his hearing, not his sight so he probably never noticed others seeing him.
Better Plot Hole: Nobody noticed the disappearances and destruction wrought by the other giants? They're a heck of a lot bigger than he is and the city isn't made to accommodate something that big. They'd at least leave footprints behind.
#5. Never saw it.
#4. Never saw it.
#3. Never saw it.
#2. Notice that Barbossa only mentions pleasant things? He probably meant that he feels nothing pleasant but can still feel pain. He's casually explaining the curse. Think, how often do you pick each and every word carefully so as to be as clear and specific on your every idea? I'll bet, not often, so it can come out wrong. Yeah, he takes the stabs and all that but people have different tolerances to pain. It'd not be much of a curse starving to death and dying of thirst if you don't feel it. Bringing up Davy Jones is also unfair under the fact we haven't seen how (or if) he came back. Until then, there's not really an explanation.
Better Plot Hole: You can't use a dingy as a submarine so they'd never make it to the Dauntless.
#1. Never saw it.

Billy Butcherson from Hocus Pocus COULD have been mummified and his body could've been preserved for 300 years, but that would've had to have been in an extremely arid environment such as a desert or on top of an extremely high mountaintop. Salem Massachusetts wouldn't cut it. Too temperate.
In Aladdin, if they used the genie to save themselves, it would've been the last wish. They could've saved themselves from Iago BUT Jafar is still a threat AND Aladdin couldn't have freed Genielike he said he'd do
In Enchanted, Edward probably had a purse of gold coins
In Cinderella, the bigger question isn't how the glass slippers lated past midnight, it would be how they didn't shatter into a million pieces and cut up her feen at the first hard step on a rock, a step or a dance floor while dancing or even when running away from the palace while shattering easily when the stepmother takes it from them when Cinderella tries it on during the search. Even if they were crystal and not glass, they could've easily shattered as well, even if they were diamond
In Mary Poppins Returns, how can it be both the 2nd tuesday AND the 2nd wednesday on the same day?
In Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, the pain the cursed pirates feel could easily be explained as being psychosomatic pain rather than real pain. They don't actually feel it but they thing they do. Much like an amputee think that their missing limb itches
In Trpn: Legacy, by putting Sam in jeopardy, it attracted Kevin. Maybe as being nothing but a computer program, Clu didn't understand the difference between real and contrived danger

When it comes to plot holes, I think writers like to leave some things to the audience's imagination, which adds more fun and entertainment value in the form of debate and discussion. As far as the glass slippers plot hole, people should watch the original animated Cinderella carefully and they'll see it is very subtly explained with a reference to an aspect in an original version of the fairy tale. It's kind of a blink or you'll miss it moment.
When they all change back, the mice point out to Cinderella that the slipper remained and after overcoming their surprise, she then looks up the sky and says thank you, most likely to the Fairy Godmother. This was something that actually happened in an original version of the fairy tale which states that Cinderella realizes that her Fairy Godmother must have left the slippers as a single memento of her evening with the prince. As for audience interpretation, one could possibly assume that Fairy Godmother continued to work some of her magic to ensure that the Prince would find Cinderella to at least give her a chance to escape her abusive life.
But that's just my observation and an attempt to help clear things up. Sorry for the unintended pretension.

10. Billie was most likely mummified, people believe witches would mummify their victims in hopes of preserving the body for reservations.
9. People don't think logically in high stress situation, that's not a plothole it's realism
8. He was already king for a long time, they wouldn't want to start a war thinking maleficent could kill them all.
7. Ok, that one is a plothole.
6. You litterly showed how he hides from people. Big doesn't mean lacks stealth.
5. Although they were made out of thin air, the spell only effected transformations. The shoes were not transformed but summoned.
4. Good point
3. They never show us a calendar so if that month the first Wednesdays was the 1st then the 2nd Wednesday would be the 8th, but the 2nd Tuesday would be the 14th.
2. That is a plothole
1. Clu was malfunctional, so he didn't stick to logic. He only saw the goal and not the route to take.

For both BFG and Cinderella. They were originally stories where someone else (NOT DISNEY) had written them. In the Cinderella story she had the glass slippers and lost one. And for all you know theres two reasons on why it could happen. Reason one is that Fairy-godmother could have known that the prince finding her would happen if the first kiss didnt get in before midnight (there was the curfew deal) and two they probably didnt disappear because they both were not on her feet. And with BFG it was put in the ACTUAL BOOK about her being kidnapped and that BFG was quite nimble for his size. (He was the smallest of the giants after all. So I will end with this do research BEFORE you go and say that it was Disneys fault. Thank u

Actually Billy being a zombie makes sense. The fact that the whole point of the witches needing children to rejuvenate themselves and become younger but were able to bring themselves back twice with no problem means their magic has limitations. Bring back a life would require a lot of magic so just putting a little extra to make the body useful would probably be the extent of their magic.
And even if that's not the case Billy hates the witches and it's clear they really don't have much power over him. So making him a zombie would be a good way to control him. Since he can't return to the dead nor can he live amongst the living.

I noticed that both the first, 2nd and 3rd Santa Clause movies had plot holes caused by the 2nd installment. The whole premise of the 2nd movie was the Mrs. Clause. First issue is that the Elves have been around for centuries by their own admission and yet only now stumble across this clause? Add to that the fact that it would mean the first Santa who fell off of Scott Calvin's roof would have had a wife and what happened to her when Scott took his place? Then in the 3rd one, after Jack Frost becomes Santa and Scott catches up with him in the present day timeline, there's no mention of Frost as Santa being married.

The Maleficent one, I think I can answer. Maleficent is thought to be this fairy of incredible power who wounded a king right? I get the feeling that a lot of people wrote it off as either a. some kind of spell that tethered her to the kingdom, or b. one of her followers reviving her. That and, it's a king. This isn't the French Revolution, the commoners aren't going to rise up and behead him without facing punishment or death on their own. The king literally goes mad. I'm not messing with someone who is liable to go insane.
reply

ALADDIN - It's called trying to stay on the Carpet so they don't fall to their deaths. Also, things were so chaotic that she didn't think about rubbing the lamp.
MALEFICENT - It's possible that a majority of his subjects were not aware of the previous king's promise. Either that, or they were too afraid to stand up to him. Not a plot hole.
CINDERELLA - The shoes were obviously made to last. Also, they were not made out of something that already existed. They were Fairy Godmother originals. ;)

Sorry, no. Nobody can make fun of my favorite Halloween movie. It's because Winnie is only so powerful, and good magic triumphs over evil magic.
Also, you know how short of a time frame she did that spell? Like 7 seconds. To render a fully fleshed human, you'd need good magic, for one thing, and a lot more time on your hands.
Or maybe. Try this one. she still hates him, and this was her form of revenge.
That's not a plot hole, that's refusing to believe suspension of disbelief.

In order for jack frost to escape he could have lightly freezed the buttons to show which ones had santas finger prints on them, Mary poppins said second Tuesday which might not mean the second Tuesday of every month but the second Tuesday after she is hired, and pirates of the Caribbean is an easy answer they don't feel physical pain but they feel phantom pain like with the embers his brain register that live embers were on him and he imagined the pain
reply

Technically it's not the first time that Mary Poppins has broken her day off rule. In the first Mary Poppins, mrs banks reveals that Mary Poppins can't take responsibility for the returned Banks children because 'it's her day off' and that was on a Thursday not a Tuesday. Yet while Bert is teaching the children about chimneys, she not only advises them to be careful but takes responsibility of them when they go on their adventure.

When did Eddie have a car? Who Framed Roger Rabbit. In the beginning when Eddie hops on the back of the red car and one of the kids asks him if he has a car, he replies to him by saying, Who needs a car in LA, we got the best public transportation in the world. But when he and Roger go to R K Maroon's office, they get there by Eddie driving a baby blue car. So if Eddie said he didn't need a car, then where'd he get it from.

I personally dont consider Number 10 and nine to be plot holes they both sound more like nitpicks to me I mean come on you answered your own question about Billy the zombie Winnies Magic is what revived Billy in the state that he was in.
The Aladdin genie situation could be explained away pretty easily Things got real intense real fast so they probably werent thinking straight plain and simple.

I still want to know how the hell Aladdin and Jafar got animals that don't live Arabia and in fact live in areas that wouldn't be discovered for another few hundred years. Abu was a Capuchin monkey and Iago was a scarlet macaw. They live in South America. Why not use models of animals that actually live in that general area. There are parrots and monkeys that live in Africa.
reply

well technically in the case of mary poppins, depending on what day a month starts, the first Wednesday could be sometimes the first Wednesday of the month making the following Wednesday the second Wednesday. as for second Tuesday sometimes the first Tuesday could be a day before the second Wednesday. so in some cases yes that is a plot hole but in other cases its not.
reply

The Cinderella one: so she said everything will return to what it was at midnight. Okay? But the blue dress came from the ripped dress she was wearing. and every thing like the carriage and the drivers came from animals and a pumpkin. but Cinderella wasnt wearing shoes when the fairy godmother gave her the shoes, because she conjured them herself.

More:
1. Beast can't leave, so why does he have a magic teleportation book as a gift from the enchantress? (Beauty and the Beast, 2017)
2. Why didn't Audrey's spell come back when Mal came back to Auradon? I mean, of course it couldn't work on the Isle. But once she leaves, Audrey's curse should still have worked, right? (Descendants 3, 2019)

reply

Clever. But as for the Aladdin complaint, it might be hard to reach for a lamp and rub it when youre jumping off a tower and onto a rug whizzing by. Or Jasmine might have been in such a panicked hurry that it took her fifteen seconds to compose herself and think of reaching for the lamp. That one doesnt seem like a plot hole to me.
reply

To all of these, IF YOU HAVE A FRICKING PROBLEM WITH HOW THINGS ARE ABD WHY THIS OR THAT DECISION WAS MADE TAKE IT TO THE DIRECTORS, ITS CALLED A SCRIPT AND ITS PART OF THE ENTERTAINMENT. damn, some people really really have nothing better to do than to look into so deep into whats supposed to be kids movies or shows.
reply

The glass slippers is not a plot hole lady you should have already know that. It's just part of the magic that The Fairy Godmother left behind to get Cinderella her happy ending. I mean if you going to question the live-action movie why not question the Disney animated classic film or the story books!
reply

Seriously most of these are easily explained if you have any kind of imagination. So saying they don't make sense means they don't make sense to anyone who has no imagination to fill in the blanks for themselves and need their hands held through the whole movie experience and never think for themselves.
reply

The Hocus Pocus one is nit-picking. What always bugged me, even as a kid, was that Dani was obsessed with befriending Billy. Like, I get that she was a kid, but it didnt make sense to me because I didnt understand her motives. Why befriend a zombie resurrected by a witch youre trying to escape?
reply

K, I need u to learn something, the reason the pirates one makes me mad is cause u just think cause their undead they dont feel pain, they have flesh in parts, so they still have nerves and shit, and then when they turn to skeletons they wouldnt feel as much, unless they break it duh
reply

ok the cinderella version that's the story she doesn't lose both shoes after midnight that's the story it goes through all of the versions of the movie in the first place that's how the story goes on the either hand there are other live action movies that might also have plot holes
reply

She says dude who died 300 years ago in hocus pocus should have been dust, but leaves out the part of his bio (the cat tells his story when the kids ask about him) where the witches killed him, and then preserved his corpse, in order for him to serve their purposes.
reply

The Mary Poppins one may not be a plot hole. It is quite possible that the 1st wed could've been the first of the month. If that is the case the 2nd tues of the month could happen. After the 2nd wed of the month. Therefore poppins wasny working on her day off
reply

Not a plot hole necessarily, but an unresolved plot point: what happened to the adults at the party who were cursed to dance until they died? I assume the curse broke when the Sanderson Sisters died but I mean, we never see those parents again.
reply

The shoes weren't transformed, they were created. The rule the fairy godmother made was for transformations not creations, and she says All shall return to what it was, but since the slippers just are, there's nothing to return to.
reply

Pirates of the Caribbean the curse of the black pearl pirate zombies probably had more fear than pain, like a fear of being burned rather than having experienced the pain of being burned or something like that.
