Had the absolute privilege to follow Julie Andrews around for a whole day when she came to my college to speak in 2003. I acted as her go-fer. I have to say, she is a regal and kind person. She asked everyones name the first time we met and called everyone by name. She treated everyone with respect and humility. It was truly like meeting the queen. I will forever cherish the memories of that day.

Marnie Nixon played Sister Sophia in The Sound of Music and was so nervous to meet Julie Andrews, since she had dubbed for a role that should have gone to Julie in the first place. But because Julie Andrews is such a class act, she just walked right up to Marnie Nixon on set, extended her hand and said: Marnie, I'm such a big fan!

6: 47 - Omg thats so insulting to us altos/contraltos out there LOL! (j/k) Ms. Andrews doesnt need a four-octave range to be a LEGEND. Her performances in Mary Poppins and Sound of Music were EPIC, and an important part of my childhood, and definitely piqued my interest in vocal music.

I dearly love Julie Andrews, and have always been inspired by her story. As hard as the bad times were, she always rose above and did it with dignity, a positive attitude, and a smile on her face! She's a beautiful soul and I would love to meet her someday.

A true legend. She is so elegant, so poise and she's the type of lady you'd love to have a cup of tea with and start chatting about old times.

My grandmother raised me on show tunes, then when I watched Mary Poppins the 1st time. I fell in love with the stage from that moment on, all because of Julie Andrews

Aw, I would have loved a Julie Andrews cameo in 'Mary Poppins Returns' but I admire that she did not want to upstage the star.

Julie Andrews is a very good actor who played as Mary Poppins and played as Queen Clarisse Renaldi from The Princess Diaries.

You guys scared the living shit out of me! Your title implies that she died. That is the last thing we need in 2020!

There are a few 'celebrities' that I say it would be an absolute dream to meet and Julie Andrews is one of them.
reply

Well she may have lost her talent singing! But she still now's how to bring entertainment. And such joy in life
reply

Its bothersome that you produced this as if she had died. so you will have to do minimum editing when it happens.
reply

No mention of her children's novels? Mandy and The Last of the Really Great Wangdoodles were lovely!

At the 8: 48 mark, we said Julie Andrews will be 65 instead of 85 by mistake! Totally our bad on that!
