What I want to know is who took so long to pour a pot of water and noodles into a strainer and then back in the pot that they even thought of an alternative? I mean doing it the 'old-fashioned' way takes less time, has less chance of getting burnt. The grapes in the wine has been around for at least 40 years because I've been doing it that long. The water bottle egg separator has been en vogue for 20 years. Not sure tiktok is THAT cutting edge although it is working diligently to bring soft porn to the mainstream! LOL

The eggs thing works, but in these days and age it's only doable it for yourself, cause no way in hell I'm going to eat an egg that someone else did like that, cover in saliva and bacteria, not mentioning the real possibility o C0v1d1.

Peeling a hard boiled eye like that work but its kinda gross, putting your mouth on it, but another hack I know work really well is to eyes a spoon, a spoon is the shape of the egg it takes the shell right off

The STRAWberry one did not start on tiktok its been around awhile, my mom tought it to me when was a kid, she also tought me to roll an orang before peeling it, put an egg in water to see how fresh it is

For parties I make ice cubes of the punch ahead of time or in a bundle pan with sliced fruit in it makes a pretty ice ring for the punch bowl that doesn't water down the punch

By far, the best and most practical Top 10 list of all time (that I've seen, anyway. Put this one on the mainstream Watch Mojo list. This isn't a girls only list.

Here's a tip.
I've been making Eggybread for 40yrs. My grandmother was making it from the 1920's. Her Grandmother from the 1850's.
It is nothing new at all.

Most of these so called TikTok hacks have been around before TikTok was invited. For an easy way to peel garlic is to put it in a bowl with a lid and shake.

The wine chilling one isn't even remotely new. My grandmother taught me that way back in the early 90s. Been doing it ever since I was old enough to drink.

For that last hack, I've never cooked a small enough portion to strain it that way. Baby, I'm making left overs too here!
reply

Oh, please! How is any of this new? The best one is the orange peel trick. That's how my mother taught me to do it in 1967!

Stick your raw potato on a fork when using a potato peeler. Helps make sure your hands don't slip as you peel

TikTok didn't invent or create most of these hacks. I did majority of these when I was working as a chef.

Also putting a little bit of vinegar in the water while boiling your eggs makes peeling them super easy.
reply

Most of them are merely videos got copied onto tiktok, usually not by the authors of the original videos.
