I know this list is just for the films but Tangled at number 10. Tangled: The Series had some amazing action sequences in season 3; especially once Rapunzel became able to go into her own unique Avatar State (of a sort; I'm dead serious about the comparison tho lol. The mid-season battle between her and the Kingdom of Corona's version of Evil Elsa is legendary among those of us who are fans of the series. She'll kick your butt with her frying pan on any regular day & you'll recover eventually but you better run for the hills as soon as she starts floating and both her hair & glow!

No surprise that The Lion King would be number one. I can NEVER turn my eyes away from the screen whenever the battle plays. The visuals and animation are absolutely stunning and beautiful. The music is beyond epic and gets you sucked into the drama. I can never help cranking up the volume whenever I get to the part of Simba and Scar battling to the death and when Simba ascends the throne later. The Lion King is 100% animation and storytelling perfection through and through!

Yes, Im glad that both Lion King, with that sequence, and the Sanctuary sequence from Hunchback were included on this list. The latter I especially liked because of of how Quasimodo rushed to help Esmeralda, but how he seemed to break free of both literal, and figurative chains in that moment as well (as pointed out by Laverne when she said that the actual chains werent what were holding him back. Anyway, thanks for this list!

I'm I the only one remembers the most underrated Disney movie Treasure Planet and The Black Cauldron. These two movie in my opinion still have one of the greatest action scenes in Disney movie history. I hold these two movies in my heart no matter how majority forgotten or never heard of these two movie before. They're still the best ever in my heart. But I'm still glad to see Atlantis in the honorable mentioning's.

Scar vs Simba at the top. Good choice. Because half of it is in slow motion, you don't realise how short the fight actually is. In reality, it would have been less than 1 minute long considering how fast Simba and Scar were actually moving and how few blows they exchanged in the process, but the show motion adds a sense of epicness that it wouldn't have it the fight was shown at regular speed.

I'm sorry, but THE most action-packed scene is the second opening scene of Bolt (yes, Bolt is Disney & not Pixar. Penny & Bolt rushing to the airport being chased by Dr. Calico's goons has more action than even a lot of live-action movies, and can compare to openings of Bond movies! The fact that it was TOTALLY ignored here - not even an Honorable Mention - is a mistake. Bolt. Zoom-Zoom!

4: 11: Not to mention that right at that moment Tarzan indirectly avenged his parents who Sabor killed just when he was a baby.
So he never really knew them or doesn't remember them. So it was a figth but not for vengeance, still satisying because it had all the heorics and action but none of the hero loosing himself to the rage, just trying to protect his adoptive dad

Jorala action scene: Jorala to the rescue.
Mitch Tele was chained to a disk like thing and was supposed to die in the lava, but Jorala breaks through the door using her pure energy blast and super strength and fights her evil sister Zira. When Jorala blasts Zira into the self destruct button, she rescues Mitch and they escape the mothership before it explodes.

It's amazing how much the Lion King still impacts me emotionally. Just from the fight scene with scar, I always end up with Goosebumps and enthralled with the action, slow motion and the flames painting the battle scene. And Simba slowly climbing up pride rock in the rain always makes me overwhelmed with tears.

For me, the only thing that makes Todd and Coppers fight with the bear even better is their bittersweet departure. After returning the favor by saving Todd from Amos, he and Copper have their last goodbye. And even though theyre now worlds apart, in their hearts, Todd and Copper will always be the best of friends.
reply

Raya & The Last Dragon! Nit even an honourable mention!
A crime, lol.
I agree with The Lion King being #1 tho. It's just too memorable & impactful a scene with how brilliantly the score, storyboarding planning, and special effects animation came together to not take the spot.

reply

Well, I knew a scene frm lion king would definitely be first. it's undoubtedly a true masterpiece. but the scene in Frozen when Elsa battles the guards. and at least one fight scene between Raya and Namaari in Raya snd the last dragon should've been included. those scenes were epic too.
reply

Great list! That Sanctuary scene in Hunchback of Notre Dame is PURE EPICNESS! I love how Quasimodo rises to the occasion and breaks those chains, with that anger and determination in his eyes. And the music combined with the choir as he descends to the town square is EVERYTHING!
reply

Every time I watch the final battle in Beauty and the Beast, Hunchback of Notre Dame and Tarzan when he says goodbye to his mother and when the silverback dies oh man do I bawl my eyes out. I just cheer when Simba and Scar fight, when Simba delivers the final roar. chills every time!
reply

The black bear scene from the Fox and the Hound was always my favorite scene from that film growing up. The Lion King and Hunchback of Notre Dame were both visually striking films with epic music and an action-packed climax. I watched those over and over again as a kid.
reply

Why did you exclude Treasure Planet from this list! Were none of the action scenes from the underrated masterpiece exciting and memorable enough to be included! Why do you have to keep ignoring the film in favor of caving-in towards popular opinion!
reply

1. Tangled
2. The Little Mermaid
3. Tarzan
4. The Lion King
5. Frozen
6. Frozen 2
7. Sleeping Beauty
8. Aladdin
9. Atlantis Lost Empire
10. Raya The Last Dragon
My Favorite Best Disney movies ever

Edgar's downfall Aristocats (1970) meaby not the most actionpacked scene but funny how Edgar's plan backfires completely and he's defeaded by farmanimals, straigtcats, straigtdogs and a dam'n mouse and send to Timbuctu

2: 13 Not only is Kill the Beast! a great action sequence, its also some of the funniest moments from the entire film! Though to be frank, I think the live-action version of the film was much better in EVERY WAY!

reply

I agree with your choice but I thing that you should have included elsa vs the nokk from frozen 2. not in the list but atleast in the honorable mentions. But anyhow your list is perfect.
reply

One action sequence that was left out was the opening to Bolt
Although it was all a scene being shot on camera at a filming studio, the action sequence with Bolt and Penny is stunning

reply

To be honest I think the dragon fight from Sleeping Beauty shouldve been on the list instead of just being an honorable mention. Heck Id even put it as number one on my personal list.
reply

so we just leaving out Raya and The Last Dragon like the final action scene with Namaari and Raya while the world them is getting destroyed isnt the best disney action scene
reply

The battle with the Hydra was truly the battle that made Hercules break a sweat. And Simba's battle with Scar was intense, especially with the slow motion.
