I love Schmigadoon. I watch, binge, watch, binge watch, and did I mention, I binge watch, Schmigadoon? Like for the past couple of weeks thats all I can get interested in as far as movies and stuff go. Not only that, I do all kinds of things with that leprechaun just to get a chance to live in a world, where lifes a musical every day. I love, love, love! Musicals. I am a lot like Melissa. You know, my ex-husband passed away in 2013, long before Schmigadoon came out. But theres a couple of lines in the series that mightve saved my marriage. Because Josh was a lot like my ex-husband. He thought musicals were silly and frivolous and I love them and we had some compatibility issues. I think Melissa and Josh were much are much stronger team than Robert I ever were. But Ill tell you, in season two, when they go to Chicago, and, Melissa tells Josh you probably like this town because of all the tea and a as in tits and ass from chorus line, and he says to her hey, youve got the only tea I wanna pay. That will save my marriage. Even though he pulled back, and said G I wish I hadnt said that, I was cheering when he said that. Its my favourite line from Schmigadoon. You have got the only tea I want to a. Dammit it wouldve save my marriage if only my husband mightve been willing to watch the musical with me. Except the musical was made after he passed away.

I cannot get over people complaining about Kristens song.
Try singing it.
No, go ahead. Try learning the words with no rhyme and a crazy alternating tempo. Just for fun.
Its next to impossible. That Broadway goddess performed that FOUR MINUTE insanity LIVE while jumping around the set and never so much as batting an eye. It was incredible talent to watch! Sorry it wasnt a minute and a half of high notes to give you the tingles, but if you werent cheering with a slack jaw at the precision and skill that she displayed, then watch it again!

12: 23 Yeah but West Side Story is the only one where someone dies onstage/onscreen!
Ok, the villain gets stabbed by accident in Oklahoma, but he's then carried offstage/offscreen and we hear a few minutes later that he died soon afterwards. South Pacific and the King and I both have the deaths happening offstage, but with the final death in King and I it was more an illness I think so it doesn't come under the killing rule.

I highly recommend it to anyone really from the musical theatre nerds like myself to the ones who don't like musicals, (and also like satire and social commentary) it's full with references and worthy critism of old musicals, praising they joy they can bring and how we can all strive to be better: ) you can see how much love in care they put into this project, I just wished it was longer

Mildred/Miss Codwell: Sarah Brightman
Betsy/Jenny: Katie Hall
Danny/Topher: Jonathan Bailey
Leprechaun: David Walliams.

Watched all of Schmigadoon, it was great! It did have a couple of cringy moments but overall it is well worth watching. I really loved how they used common musical tune with new lyrics.

I really liked Keegan in the skits Ive seen him do in Key And Peele
I also thought he was pretty funny as his character in The Predator and as the narrator in Green Eggs And Ham

reply

It's so good! I mean plot-wise it's a bit of a mess and Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key have basically no chemistry but it's just so joyful and fun that I don't even care

Yes I just watched the last episode and this show deserves all the recognition! Also at one point in the town I noticed one of the buildings had Hammerstein on the side!

Not to bash the writers but did they have to bring up the dr. Suess sellouts for their credentials? There must have been something more impressive then that?

How did you not mention director Barry Sonnenfeld! He is the king of whimsy, Men In Black, Pushing Daisies, The Addams Family! You dropped the ball on this one.

Loved the show! Clever, colorful and fun. Loved the music and dance numbers. Outstanding cast! Lorne Michaels and creator hit another home run.

Great show! Just finished watching the show. Great production. The production numbers were like satirical versions of the original songs.

Not really a fan of short but sweet shows. 6 episodes are fine and all, but eh, I prefer shows with a little more to it.
