Clearly the politics photoshoot was to try and create some drama between the contestants. They were hoping that one of the contestants would give a controversial and unpopular opinion for the political movement they were posing as, so they could try and stir the pot to get other contestants who disagreed to start arguing over said political stance. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the contestants lied about their opinions because they were afraid of getting eliminated for giving an answer that wouldn't fly with the judging panel. It also wasn't cool that Kathleen was made fun of just because she didn't know about the anti-fur movement. There was nothing wrong with not knowing about certain political movements or just being apolitical overall. They clearly were there for a modeling competition and shouldn't have been put in that position.

I think the personalities shoot in cycle 8 had a good idea (had they actually done it like the Tyra photo page that they showed) but instead they just made it cheap, and poorly done. They should've just had the girls do different faces/poses and choose the best shots there and lay them out like they did in the Tyra shoot. Asking them to pick 4 personalities (which accidentally end up all looking the same, the poor photography, poor editing with the ugly graphics and fonts, it just ruined the shoot.

I can't believe I used to watch and love the show. First of all I own three fur coats so just get over yourself. Secondly I didn't go out and kill an animal to get them they were given to me. Will I wear them yes I do get over yourself that's my choice. Well I murder a baby like all you people he'll know murders not on my forte. Me every life deserves a chance if you want to abort somebody go back in time and aboard the idiots and want to kill babies

The seven deadly sins shoot could have been cool but many of the girls had terrible styling. Like Keenyah, Michelle and Tatiyana. They looked terrible. And the photos production chose were awful too. I think sometimes they styled these girls terrible on purpose and then chose their worst photo.

I know calling out so called Problematic old shows is a trendy thing now, but I for one never took Top Model seriously. It and its controversies had no real impact on the fashion industry or the world at large. I knew that watching it and truly feel people only care now because its the thing to do.

Cycles 4, 7 and 8 are my faves and I have to admit I kinda liked those at the time lol but seeing them now, the zodiac one for example: it was an interesting idea for 12 girls but the looks were horrible indeed
and dont get me started about all the cringy and plain wrong stuff in ANTM

Why was the murder scene photoshoot from season 8 not mentioned here? Not only did Jael lose her friend a week before having to do that photoshoot, but they're essentially glamorizing violence against women, which is insensitive to any woman who's been in those kinds of situations

It's no secret that Tyra and Janice Dickinson did not get along behind the scenes. Despite your guys' opinion on Janice, she still a legendary model and I would not be surprised if she thinks many of those photo shoots were ridiculous and an embarrassment to the fashion industry.

I was told since I was a preteen that I need to go on Americas next top model, I really wanted to and one year I tried didnt make an audition but I tell you I am so happy I just did it on my own the show now that we look back really has some problems

Looking back, this show was extremely cheap and not professional at all. At _lots_ of the makeovers, ANTM did these lovely ladies so dirty. Allisons hair is CORN YELLOW not blonde. And patchy.

A lot of reality TV back then was problematic, looking at it in NOW lenses. I still enjoyed the show. Today's shows are all about being pc. No wonder reality TV has fizzled out.
