I think Footloose and Flashdance should be excluded here because doubles were used for the dance scenes. It's like cheating the audience. That was not Jennifer Beals in the amazing Flashdance audition right? The face is hardly seen and I read there was a double used which was such a downer. John Travolta should be in the top 3 with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire.

I'm surprised that Fred Astaire is not #1 on this list. He did a TON of iconic solo dances that are absolutely amazing! Best tap dancer of the 20th century. Don't get me wrong, Gene Kelly is also really good and up there with Fred Astaire but for me personally Astaire is the best. I'm also surprised the Vera-Ellen is not on this list.
