What? No Lighthouse Louie? That had a ton of items from previous episodes, including a newspaper saying Deranged Boat Driver Makes Getaway. Distracts Authorities with Balloon Animals.
This is a call back to No Free Rides. The original storyboard had the name Bobbi Blowfish on the paper. Mrs Puff did say she changed her name.

In the episode Sailor Mouth there was also a George Carlin reference when Mr Krabs says there are thirteen bad words you should never say, and Squidward follows up by saying dont you mean there are only seven. This references George Carlins seven dirty words you cant say on television.

still love that spongebob & tom kenny's birthdays are a few days before my brothers(as well as midoriya/ichigo & the same day as luigi's debut. :3) and like to think spongebob's christmas picture in secret box is his snapshot in the nickmas shorts.

7: 55 I didn't think they would put references to the movie in the show. As i thought show creator said that the movie was set after the SpongeBob show. That's why you don't see the Krusty Krab 2 in any episode.

That creepy fish talking to Larry the Lobster at Spongebob's party was definitely a nod to Peter Lorre from Casablanca and a bunch of other classic old films, same voice, hair and everything
