Well me I saw mostly purle in my memory's of pain then I saw lapets in the toxic mentally state then the finally kind image think all the gender probably was force to ment to be then some moments leading to a cunfusing moment's both mental yet question-able who is toxic and who ain't I would have day looking up at the sky hearing the wind just hoping my question would at lest show themselves then I would remember my grandmother's from both my mom and dad side of the family they were family but when they died I felt alone scared about myself I couldn't known what to do. I try to bottle it up but some of this different episode got me thinking what if Steven was a villan but Connie was his Target and both side understood yet he became a human dyman yet wanting a human lover beside him has a goddess/human partner for life some days I wonder what it would be like thinking about this stuff yet not Talking about any of it me. I would image this guy I am with obsessed with me yet I would feel that guy emotion having those women type scary and feard thoughts and images and yet he never says no when he ask me to do them I say no but I would feel so cunfused then my memory's would kick in like this is way we are like this to protect you Mel

So many of the issues Connie, Steven, Greg and the Gems had in Fusion Cuisine could easily have been avoided if Connie simply didn't lie to her parents about Steven living with his mum.
When Steven said it was impossible for Connie's mother to speak with his because she gave up her physical form for him to exist, Connie says she could tell her mum that.
But, in fact, she easily could have.
When asked by her mother about Steven's mother, all Connie needed to say was, the day Steven was born, his mother left this world.
That isn't a lie, as, revealed in Change Your Mind, Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, literally no longer exists.
Steven's birth rewrote her gem's inner workings, so only Steven exists now.
Plus, had Connie used that exact wording, her mother would fully understand.
She's a doctor, so would completely understand the concept of a mother giving her life during childbirth so their baby can live.
Had Connie simply gone that route, her mother might even have been more willing to let Connie hang out with Steven from the start, wanting her to be Steven's friend so he has someone to talk to and understand what having a mother is like

I have something to mention about number 10. SU also tackled the trauma Spinel experienced and how it affected her, leaving her with symptoms of BorderLine Personality Disorder [BPD]. These examples include: Her fear of abandonment, her mood swings, impulsive decisions, attachment and relationship issues [which aren't symptoms, just effects of it], the needing of validation from the person they hold dearest, and potential self loathing and depression [from when she fought Steven and he covered the 'Change' song]. All of these are things she experiences, after years of neglect, being used, depression, loneliness/isolation, being abandoned, and what happens after Steven is done with Spinel, because she took out the injector.

Stevens crisis in the Future season is the one that hits close to home for me. Not his trauma, but that moment where all his friends seemed to be drifting apart as everyone was finding their own paths. This, combined with all that he was trying to bottle up until the finale, it just hits so hard to me because I have been upset since graduating high school because Ive parted ways with all my friends, and with all the issues Ive been dealing with it felt like there was no one around to talk to. Thankfully in recent years Ive managed to find all the support I wanted, I needed, but it still troubles me how I have faced so many hardships when I couldve had help all along.

as a kid, i was obsessed with space, and pretty things such as gemstones. i loved fantasy, reading, playing, drawing, and i liked cartoon network! i'm also a part of the lgbtq+ community, and i have suffered from serious trauma from my childhood (which wasn't nearly as fun as what i listed made it look like. i also really do like romantic things (as long as they aren't dumb and cheesy) no matter if they're straight or gay. i found this show recently, and when i watched it, it had everything i could have asked for.

I regret not understanding how back then i relate to some of the issues from steven universe apart from LGBT relationships. Especially when it came to consent and toxic relationships. The messages behind those episodes really would've saved my teenage self a lot of trouble freshman year through senior year in high school. I'd give anything to go back in time to when Steven universe started and every episode again with the knowledge i have now

I think what hit me the hardest was finding out what Pink had been through with the other Diamonds in the main series, and then in Steven Universe Future, it was the lead-up to Steven turning into the monster. I'm a fraud, I'm a monster! - how many of us have felt this way?

I really don't know if I'll ever forget the moment I watched Ruby and Sapphire kiss. My now-fiancee and I were like aww, that's so. WAIT they just DID that? That HAPPENED? I can't quite describe it, but something about seeing that kiss, on TV, made me feel super warm and fuzzy.

I went through this series when the movie came out. I was 25. I was saddened and moved by some of the serious moments and usually ended episodes thinking this is a kids show?
I think everyone who hasn't should watch this show to learn about difference and acceptance.

The part where the people Steven loves talking to him about how much they love him in his monster from, and then transformed back and started crying, that made me cry too.
I was teari g up while writing this. I hate crying, especially when I'm around people.

Ppl dont have to like Steven Universe but I want ppl to know what people of the lgbt community have to fight for representation and creators have to fight to give kids representation and characters EVERYONE can relate to. Thats why SU is so important.

I really like that this show is one of the few nowadays that addresses anxiety at some point. Mindful Education and Here Comes A Thought has now become my coping for my own anxiety, and I'm really grateful for this series that's taught me so much.

Thi video is fantastic! I love Steven universe because it has the guts to tackle the subjects and be calming still. When I was a teen and I had a bad dream I would listen to the Steven universe soundtrack. I still do that to this day! :)

The scene when Connies mom was asking Steven about his life and leading him to come to grips with how much hes dealt with and that he may very well have PTSD was one of the most profound things Ive seen in kids media.

The issues of self-worth and loss resonated with me the most. I faced loss 3 times in my life and struggled with thinking bad about myself. Three times I had a breakdown, and the first two were a year apart
reply

As A person on a different video pointed out The reason smoky quartz didnt unfuse when they were questioning their self-worth was because it was so common between both Steven and amethyst

I miss this series
I fell abandoned by a truck driver when he died in 2011 and found out 4 years later about it and feel abandoned that no one told me
And never got over this loss

reply

And yet there were people who were saying Steven Universe coming to grips with trauma and going with a slightly darker tone was a bad turn.
I for one completely disagree.

I'm so mad at my dad for not letting me watch the show. One day, I watched it behind his back, he then caught me, and the next thing you know, I was banned from TV for a month.
reply

As someone who went through a horrible relationship that I won't mention happened in it so I don't have to put a warning when I watched jasper and lapis it hit to the core
reply

Seriously, how come nobody were aware about this cartoon being so dramatic and how it's legit THROUGH THE ROOF?
Maybe I'm getting to carried away with this or something.

reply

Ive never watched this show, but, they really did tackle some serious issues! And they did it in a way that kids can ingest it! Wow! #KathyKiddEntertainment #RoadWalking
reply

I am my monster is my favorite episode. From the series. It perfectly highlighted what trauma is and how we navigate dealing with it and not fully acknowledging it.
reply

I was just remembering of Steven Universe yesterday and it makes me miss the show so much! I wonder if Rebecca is planning on making another show similar to this
reply

Did you know that the voice of Steven was the first voice actor to voice Prince James on Disney Junior's Sofia the first throughout season 1 and early season 2?
reply

Totally need to do an episode (or a lot) covering Young Justice. That show is just as awesome as Steven Universe and deserves more attention than it gets.
reply

The fandom may have it's. Moments but Steven Universe woke me to the issues in our world when I was 10 that's why I'm pursuing sociology in college
reply

Can you please do Top 10 Times IGG's Time Princess delt with serious issues? The latest story Dancing On Ice deals with quite a few of them.
reply

No one seems to be talking about how real-life malachite gems are toxic in a very literal sense. They're actually poisonous to human skin.
reply

I love this show so much. It came on at a time in my life where I really needed an escape from my reality. It's such a great show
