I first liked her as Carmela when watching _The Electric Company_ as a child. I saw her cabaret show in San Francisco back in 2000. After the show, she was autographing her eponymous CD album for people who stayed behind. I was the last one in line. By the time I reached her, we were almost the only people in the lobby. As she was signing my copy, I said, When you came out on stage, I thought you were going to sing the Punctuation song [from _The Electric Company_ shown at 6: 24 singing 'Now a comma is that funny little sign/That says, Hey wait. Just a second. hold the line. /When joo see a comma mostly it will mean/There are words you ought to take a breath between'], so she sang the first bar to me right there.

Ok. now.
This woman started out as a legend from the get-go. Now I've always known the Latin community had a lot to offer but she was already well on her way by the time in 72 at my birth but what I didn't know is that her true die-hard legend, talent, and humor would last multi-generational. So from both my brother George and I, we give her all the credit, props and love she TRULY DESERVES.
Oh. and um. THE LAUGHS!

I fell in love with Rita Moreno when I saw her in West Side Story, America was by far the best song in that movie and the best character in the show was Anita by far! I also enjoyed seeing her in Sesame Street and all the shows I watched. Was absolutely excited to see her as a character in Oz when that show came on. still love her to this day!

I will always love her, Don't tell my wife. I think you missed on one of the great characters she played. The teacher on The Cosby Show. Everytime she was on I watched as I knew she would get the best of Cliff, Claire would love her and the kids not only laughed but they listened.

Alongside West Side story, I loved her on the golden girls and her appearance on the muppet show is one of my favorite episodes! Though I haven't seen one day at a time, her character sounds like someone the golden girls would just love!

Even though she's a spokesperson for social justice and as a co-producer, she let the the director and writer put into the film where the boys kept yelling, Pollock Pollock at Tony. That wasn't right and that wasn't nice
reply

Yes amazing longevity. Seems the good do die young. The fact she dated Brando does not give her any respect and bashing others far more deserving of their fame and career, yet she is a good dancer.

What a life this lady lived. Slapped Marlon Brando, won an oscar, an emmy, golden globe, peabody. has been in some of the most monumental movies EVER. and has a great personality.

Yeah, There's no doubt about it. Rita Moreno. is truly a massive Pop Culture Icon, The EGOT Icon and for sure a huge Role Model for Latin Community. Rita is the Rock we want.

Not everyone loves Rita. I think things are going a little overboard with stories on her and I lost respect for her once she was on the View and some things she said.

I can't believe that Rita is 90 years old, and still looks fabulous today. I'm delighted that they wrote a role in for her in the remake, she was phenomenal!

I wished they'd have mentioned her role on Oz which she nailed. It was a heavy hitting dramatic role, which showcased some serious acting chops and range.
