it's so nice to be able to get ANYTHING online, but kids these days will never understand the experience of the mall. they had it all, badass stores, fast food, movie theaters, and arcades. there were so many magical nights I spent with my family going to the mall as a kid and seeing a movie and having dinner. you'd stay there all night. I guess malls are still around, but it's different than it used to be.

Some other stores I loved that are gone (or greatly diminished) are: B. Dalton (another bookstore similar to Waldenbooks, Sears, JC Penney, Phar-Mor (a super-sized pharmacy, and Brendle's (a department store; folks that grew up in the Carolinas between the '70s and '90s know about this one.

I worked at Media Play when I was 19. I remember so many people were getting this one single with a cute blonde girl. Id never seen her before. We sold out and to give rain checks.
Turned out it was Hit Me Baby (One More Time) by the legend, the iconBritney Spears.

Please do a video featuring retail mascots that we remember as kidsShoprite Supermarket Scrunchy, McDonalds Ronald, Hamburglar, ToysRUs Jeffrey and more! Also consider a video for mall stores that disappeared like Eastern Mt Sport and Nature Company.

Pretty sure the fact that I rarely see most new movies these days is linked to the closing of Blockbuster. I've probably see maybe 5 new movies a year these days.

Kmart was one of my favorites. Ours closed maybe about 7 or 8 years ago. I do miss it. I miss the smell. Because be honest kmart had their own unique smell.

This doesn't make sense to put Blockbuster at #1 because it still exist at the one last remaining location in Bend, Oregon which is still open today.

I don't think toy's r us should be on this list. They're bringing them back into Macy's so they're not gone. They're just taking a break is all.

Kiddie City! No one ever mentions them. And I loved that place way more than Toys R Us and Kaybee!
But a great list as always! Thank you!

Children's Palace was one that I remember. We had a video catalog of theirs on tape: it was just commercials but we loved watching it.

Mine has to be Waldens. My best friend and I haunted Waldens, as we had no other bookstores. Oh how we loved that dinky little store!

It's been hard on us who like to shop in a store to have so many going out of business because the younger generation shaps online.

I remember the Disney store at the Square One Mall when I was a kid, but they close it down at 2018. I missed that store.

There used to be an Olson Electronics in the early 1980's, akin to Radio Shack. I really miss that place.

You don't see electronic stores at malls anymore as they've gone out of business thanks to technology
