I really like her but I refuse to accept this idea that Adele is some master vocalist. Her range is not vast, but her tone is beautiful. I don't include her in any top ten list of female singers. She doesn't stand up to the vocal trinity. she doesn't have the resonance of Toni Braxton. The power of Streisand. The power of Aretha, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Cristina Aguilera, Lara Fabian, or rockers like P! nk, Heart, Pat Benatar, Janis Joplin. The control of Mariah, Chante Moore, Donna Summer, Ella Fitzgerald, Phyllis Hyman and others.
Again, I genuinely like Adele but she's an overrated vocalist.

if the movie The bodyguard is the reason the song I Will always Love you is so famous then we can't really say the song is famous just because of itself. a lot of people went to see The bodyguard and they probably weren't fans of Whitney houston. They maybe we're not even fans of Dolly parton. but they heard the song and maybe even fell in love with it because of the emotion and the scenes and the actors. That's the only reason it is the most famous of her songs

Ariana Grande has done a cover of Emotions. She has the range to do it. She has also covered some Whitney Houston stuff, and done a credible job of it.
I've heard no one else, though, who can manage Emotions or I Will Always Love You like Mariah and Whitney, respectively.

Ariana Grande is very underrated I think, due to her age and reputation as a child actor on Nickelodeon. However she is on par with Mariah as she sounds very similar with the same range. I hope in time she will earn her spot on this list.

Ain't No Way by Aretha Franklin should be on the list. I haven't heard anyone cover it in the original key without switching to the head voice on the high note in the bridge. The song also carries a lot of emotion as well.
