But were completely ignoring the bullying Andy and Claire dished out? Telling him hes worthless when they havent even known him/insinuating he should just kill himself/denying his abuse when he opens up about it?
Bender just started off obnoxious, they started to make it personal and Bender didnt know when to quit. Hes not blameless AT ALL, but hes also a scared kid and not the only one who said/did unforgivable things. The beauty of the Breakfast Club is that it shows we have more in common with people were told to/supposed to blindly hate than we realize. And that bridging that gap can be a good thing.

Danny Zuko acted like a normal teen boy. He was surprised when he saw Sandy at school out of the blue. He comes around and grows by taking track to become more worthy of Sandy. The real villain in the scene was Rizzo who knew was counting on how Danny would behave when she caused the two to meet suddenly in public.
John Bender is mean to everyone on purpose in The Breakfast Club. He is aware that his meanness causes all the people with detention to bond and unify. He is so aware of the importance of this ability (and the need for it) that he purposely gets attention again at the end of the movie.

Not exactly surprised about the motives of these characters. Yeesh! I'm still not over Danny embellishing his summer romance with Sandy, Janis manipulating Cady to get revenge on Regina, or Josie becoming a target for a cruel joke by her high school crush. Broke my heart. Yet, most of us know we've been bullied by others at one point or another. But, me, most of my days being bullied constantly stem back in mostly middle school, which my awkward phase really reared its head, unfortunately.

Stop including the Notebook in these lists when you obviously haven't read the book. Allie was reluctant to go out with Noah because of parental/societal expectations, not because she didn't like him - she obviously did. He knew this and pursued her anyway, because who gives a shit what her parents think. It's the story of people finding love from across societal boundaries and finally choosing each other over everyone else. It's beautiful. It does not belong on this list.

Secret Admirer when Michael realize that going out with Debby was a mistake. He comes to Tonys house after his birthday party to confess that he thought his relationship with Debby would be more like his relationship with Tony.
Also The sure thing when Gib dreams about Alison instead of the sure thing because he developed feelings for Alison.

The Wooderson place completely missed the mark. That movie is set in the 1970s. The age of consent in TX rose from 14 to 16 in 1995, twenty years later. Also, many groups have an older member. The point of the Wooderson character is that he is so out of place and creepy and utterly clueless.
reply

Bender being mean to everyone around him in The Breakfast Club is a facade. Like he stated, his parents despise him because he's looked down upon and their rage on him is what creates hurt, anger and depression. Being angry is what he's good at and he enjoys taunting people that way.
reply

How could you forget Carrie 1976! The girls who bully her go out their way to make sure she is picked as homecoming queen just so the main bully can dump pig blood on her when she goes up on stage with her date. Of course, she gets revenge and kills them all in a fiery death.

Janis and Regina are complete opposites, yet both are mean girls which is something that I like about the story. Janis isn't even popular and most likely puts an effort in being as much unlike Regina as she can be, but that doesn't mean she's a good person.

Sorry, but I think that to romanticize Sebastian psycho behaviour is the truly unforgiveble moment from Cruel Intentions. He is presented as villain and we expect cruelty from him. To make him a hero is justify his toxic cruel behaviour.

Okay Ladies, Why is this ever school I hear this Popular Girls gets Popular Men's, also Popular Girls ALWAYS picks on the Loser girls. Sometimes I wishes can turn the places. Popular Girls vs Loser's. Popular Girls wouldn't last than second.

Lewis Likes Pi - Revenge of the Nerds, John Enjoys a Smoke - River's Edge, With Friends Like These - Bully, Zero Day - Elephant, At First You Don't Succeed - The Virgin Suicides, Invitation - Dope, Heart of the Game - Varsity Blues

I'm not saying what he did wasn't bad, but I still think that Sebastian did redeem himself at the end for Annette; and Kathryn got what was coming to her. Just seeing Cecile's face as she handed her the journal was priceless

Josie getting hit with eggs hit home to me as I have faced similar incidents as a result of bullying, to see her just crushed by the cruelty was heartbreaking and all she wanted was to belong just like everyone does

Funny how Ms Mojo takes the same movies over and over to make different lists for different topics. One list they love and support the movie, the next they trash it and want it on the next cancel culture list.
reply

It's easy to verbally manipulate old tropes by modern standards. But in doing so you miss the original intentions by leaving out key details. Some of it actually seems intentional. That too is manipulative.

I would argue that the worst part of Never Been Kissed is the fact that shes a grown woman and she almost hooks up with a high schooler. and I say that as someone who was a fan of the movie at the time.
reply

A good addition to this list, would be pretty much everything that the trio of girls and John Tucker do in John Tucker Must Die, I think the only decent character in that movie was Scott
reply

Bro now that Im older Grease is beyond cringe. like da fck message is this. And then she changes herself for him. wait. never been kissed that egg moment geez as an adult cannot watch
reply

I don't get #1. this isn't unforgivable, it's the whole point of the movie! Kathryn and Sebastian are villains of course they are going to do unforgivable things. Make it make sense!
reply

the fact that in The Notebook, Noah Jr basically forced Allie to go out with him. like what guy threatens to kill himself to get a girl to date him. he must have been pretty desparate
reply

The school genre is the one that I hate the most. But the humiliation of Sam from A Cinderella Story made me vomit! Geezus, I still remember those horrible moments from middle school.
reply

I hate Bender s character in Breakfast Club. Janis in Mean Girls also had no accountability for her actions to Cady which was the most frustrating thing about Mean Girls for me,
reply

I dont think Annette was intent on waiting till marriage. She says she wants to wait till she was I love and didnt think she was at a mature enough to understand when she was.
reply

I will always rewatch A Cinderella Story because I love Hilary Duff, Jennifer Coolidge and Regina King but I absolutely agree with you. Austin Ames is a spineless little boy.
reply

I didn't really think Janis was using Cady, yeah it was for revenge but it was something fun she could do with her friend and She did own up to it at the gym at least.
reply

I remember watching Never been kissed with my cousin when we were kids and that scene left me so heartbroken. And then in middle school I got bullied as well: /
reply

Shes fabulous but shes evil. Thats literally why the villains are the best. They arent the best people but theyre so confident and fun to watch in a movie
reply

He's more willing to humiliate lizzie to destroy isabella rather than wanting to embarras her. He doesn't care enough about lizzie to want to humiliate her.
