It was frustrating to watch at first but then I realized a possible reason as to why Netflix chose to do it this way. Let audience be the judge after she was given the platform for her voice ( being her true self or not, and see how many would really find sympathy in this on her side. The fact that many audience are mad and frustrated with the doc is the exact point: she can say and play it however she and her lawyer want in real life and in court, people know what she was up to and she knew what she was doing from the very beginning. You can't enjoy all the benefits of an illegal ride and then play dumb to shake off the responsibility. A successful business woman from Wharton would be brainwashed to do the things she did? She was in the hustle from the beginning when they got married only that she got hustled by a bigger con. Everyone in this including Naz knew what was going on. She just didn't have the ball to admit it like an adult and still wants to hustle the world by appearing on tv shows and interviews for all kinds of publicity turning them into fortune of hers.

This is one of the worst online phishing cases Ive come across. It combined the age old predatory partnering with rich, single women while applying cyberstalking, online Spear Phishing, Whaling, and CEO fraud at the same time. Millions of people and businesses fall for these every year. There seems to be ample proof from multiple witnesses that the guy misrepresented himself to TWO different women. Why so much hate for Sarma. She has a credible brainwashing case.
One thing that the documentary should have made more clear is that she built the restaurant up over 15 years and the whole thing went to trash in about 2 years pretty much fully overlapping with Anthonys presence. Also the guy and his dad had done the exact same thing before with a less rich woman who even had a kid with this jerk. We all have the benefit of hindsight, but Sarma obviously was chasing after some youve got mail movie ending like millions of other women disappointed with their love life except this guy happens to be a predatory criminal. This gives me pause before blaming Sarma.

For those who have not been psychologically or mentally abused need to keep their mouths shuts. This guy made her believe bizarre things that werent real and gaslighted her! Its happened to me, its happened to family members that ive known and it sounds crazy but when youre in love its hard because you are put in a spot where you are easily manipulated. She knew what was going on and could of done something about it but he manipulated /threatened her to the point where she was too scared to do anything because of them.
Take a movie for example, you see a girl getting caught by a killer and shes just staring at the killer with shock. And you watching the movie scream, what are you doing, run! but once you are out in that position its hard to get out of it.

I am glad that I have been able to get out of this manipulation because many people feel so bad that they commit suicide precisely because they believe that no one will believe them, thank God I have advanced and this is known as victims of narcissists or schizophrenics. I realize this is an unpopular opinion but Sarma was mentally and financially abused. I was aware of this story before it was a documentary, still watched it, and can fully sympathize with her. I was a victim of financial abuse and it is terrifying how non verbal and sneaky it is. I know that if I had millions of dollars my abuser would have taken every penny. My situation was 100% legal because I was convinced it was my idea, despite me being an experienced and educated person. It is a scary situation that is rarely discussed.

Reminds me quite a bit of the Christian Gerhartsreiter (Clark Rockefeller) con artist -- both men circulated through society, claiming to be new-age royalty or similar 'Illuminati, ' before zeroing in on eligible female marks. Sandra Boss was a bit more cautious + probing than Sarma, but both ladies jumped in without asking too many questions, or, just as likely, with their doubts squashed by OMG-celebrity ambitions. Not a good scene for anyone involved.

Watching this made me sick to my stomach. I forced myself to watch episode three and now I have to finish it.
